This is a diamond in the rough. It’s an unassuming grocery store in a quiet little country side town but they’ve got a pretty solid beer selection, probably the second best that I came across in Louisiana. In addition to the rest of the stuff that is available at some of the better beer stores in the area (big name Belgian, German, and British imports as well as Stone, Sierra, Dogfish Head, and other national brands) these guys have plenty of Bruery, Tilquin, and Fantome. Not a lot in common between those three but they are all big name and I didn’t come across them in most other stores. Also, the prices were pretty reasonable. The Tilquin was "only" $18 for the 750, which is high for what a gueuze should be but it’s cheap for what Tilquin goes for normally in the US.
They were in the process of closing up as I was pawing through the selection but the beer guy happily made suggestions. I ended up with a bottle of Unibroue’s Quelque Chose, not because I haven’t had it but because it’s good and because I wanted to buy something to support these guys. It’s a fun beer to share with someone. Good store, I just don’t understand the low scores, especially given the descriptions.

There is a pretty decent selection of craft beer here both at room temp and cold. Unfortunately there are hoppy beers which should not be on the shelf due to age.

Great spot, A bit expensive overall, but awesome selection. Found some stuff here that I haven’t seen in a while (or ever for some!)

We finally made the trip across the lake to check out the legendary beer selection at Acquistapace’s Supermarket. The liquor room is the size of an average convenience store! The beer coolers are loaded with a wide selection of brews of every type and seemingly from every country, all available singly. It’s a bit of a haul for me but I can see popping in there from time to time. If I lived nearby, I’d be in trouble!

UPDATE, REWRITE. The new Wine, Liquor, Beer department is now open! It has almost as much square footage as the entire supermarket used to have. Hundreds and hundreds of different beers. If you are into wine, thousands of different wines. They are now officially advertising, Best selection of beer, wine and liquor in Louisiana. All the beer, really, all of it, is sold cold.
