Interesting concept of offering one option for six different styles, plus some specialties. Great service on all fronts. Awesome food. Pricey all around, but a must stop. Louisville!

My go to place in Louisville. Good food. Kid friendly. Easy parking on a Saturday afternoon. And I can get a sampler and try every beer on the menu. Plus, you have to love the names and the way they split up styles. ATG just needs to bottle some of their stuff...and brew a few things more than once.

Ambiance is pretty nice; a good sized space with fermentation vessels visible through the glass behind the bar, nice sized bar area, etc. some TVs if you are wishing to watch the game. Service is always pretty solid, I never get a "deer in the headlights" server who is completely clueless, and often they will refer questions to brewers, of which there always seems to be one present.Their beer selection included six of their own beers; there is a vast array offered here, and they change often; guest taps are also available, and hard to predict- some regional, some imported. The food can be excellent here- Iíve had some wonderful meals here (even the coleslaw is metal); I recommend anything smoked, especially any pork item. The value here is great- 6 3-4 oz. pours of their beers for seven dollars; full pours in the 4-6 dollar range. I consider ATG my local, and it never disappoints. Street parking is free after 6 p.m. (I believe, just read the meter). During the baseball season, the parking lot by the stadium is under guard supervision, and a no-go for parking (parking there is fine in the off-season). I can always find parking under the overpass leading up to the place, or just a little further back- itís never more than a five minute walk to the front door. Since youíre already in the area, check out Louisville Beer Store just a few blocks over on E Market St. You could probably walk there, but you should be able to find free parking in the area if you are driving.

Nice place. Liked the bartender. Open and light atmosphere. Parking sucks. Decent beers. Limit selection other than atg. Quick rotations.

Visited for dinner on a Monday, pleasant 1/2 mile walk from the downtown hotel I was staying at. It was a great night, so I grabbed dinner (Ribs, which were solid) and a few beers on the huge sidewalk patio Against the Grain has. In addition, there is a large indoor room with a few TVís, a big bar, and tables spread throughout. The selection was solid, 6-7 of their own beers + a few guest beers from nearby brewers. Service was attentive. Overall, great place to grab a beer. As this spot is connected to the baseball stadium, I would imagine it gets slammed before and after games.

82 = ★★★Ĺ (Solid place, near the top of the list for locals and visitors)

I only use the total score, not the component parts.

Probably the best brewpub in Louisville. IT is located right next to Louisville Slugger Field and is walking distance from downtown. There is a bar and lots of open space with plenty of tables. There are several large screen TVs. The beer is unique, interesting, and tasty (I got to try a hoppy saison, grodziske, coffee porter, and imperial stout aged in bourbon). There were approximately 7-8 taps with plenty of eclectic styles. The food is good too - we tried the pulled pork nachos (which are actually served with potato chips) and the smoked turkey - all excellent. I would definitely recommend coming here and Iíd make it your first stop in Louisville.

Brownings closed and someone who knows what is up has opened up a brewpub in its stead. ATG brews beers in six smart categories. Rather than aim for specific styles, they have six general flavors in which different new brews constantly rotate such as malt, hop, session, and most awesomely: smoke. The bartender was so helpful and enthusiastic about the beer and food. Ambiance is eclectic with lots of hip artwork specifically created for the smokehouse. The food is absolutely excellent. Theyíve got their smokehouse focus on. Nearly everything on the menu is properly smoked. I ate pork confit fritters with smokehouse hash and a side of smoked slaw. I repeat, smoked slaw. The beer titles are an added bonus. It is places like this with a commitment to great beer and cuisine that are giving Louisville a bit of a scene.

I absolutely love this place. Great beer at unbelievable prices, terrific food and a perfect, downtown Louisville location. Attached to Louisville Slugger Field, it's close to just about everything and parking is always very easy. The people are always nice too. This is usually our first stop when we visit Louisville (we visit often) and we normally hit it up more than once when we're in town.

Stopped in with the wife for dinner while in Louisville. The vibe is great; clean and open with a good scene and awesome smells. The draft beer selection is limited but good, with seven house taps of some solid beers. Service was good as was the value. Iím really impressed! GET THE CHEESE GRITS!!!
