Nice place with relatively poor beer choice. Real brewery, making brewing continuously. Some of their beers are pretty good, but also several just average. Consider as local brewpub.

Visited on Tuesday 11/11/14 around 4pm. The venue was fairly quiet when we arrived but business began to pick up as dinner time neared. The place is a medium sized venue with a tall ceilingm slab floor and metallic toppings on the tables. On the right as you enter are some fairly swanky booths, surrounded by tall wood backing. Large hessian rugs adorn the walls above these booths depicting brewing related patterns such as barley and hops. Brewing kit also visible. Beer wise there were 10 on tap, all available in tasters. Service was prompt and friendly. Beers were adequate but no greats, my ratings averaged at 3.07 which puts these guys above the mom and pop diner brewpubs but a fair distance short of the better ones. Columbia River where I visited beforehand averaged at 3.34. Overall a nice facility but the beers were pretty mediocre. Not a go to venue but if in the area and time allows why not.

Brewpub/restaurant quite a ways down Fremont St. Fairly quiet on an early Thursday evening. Mixed crowd, a bit older than many beer places in PDX. Light rock on sound system, news on TV. Sort of fuzzy industrial look: cinder block, shiny metal siding, and warm blonde wood. Extensive menu of pub stuff. Sampler set: six 3-oz. glasses for $7, choice of eight regulars, three seasonals, and one on nitro. Beer is okay, with a couple of pleasant surprises.

Pretty blond wood booths, nice bar. Decent beer selection and decent happy hour. The ambiance of the neighborhood raises food expectations just a little--.foods good just nothing special.

Visited while roadtripping through Oregon and Washington. Nice atmosphere, big open room. The food menu looked really good, but we were only drinking. I would say that the beers were mainly pretty average. I would recommend hitting Alameda if you are doing brewery tours east of the river.

Alameda was a bit further out in northeast portland. Itís pretty big with a more rustic feel to it I went with mostly their IPAs at the time and they were pretty good. They had a solid selection of their own brews. The food was solid. It was pretty standard pub fare, but pretty decent. Nothing to jump through hoops to get, but Iíd certainly have no problem eating here in the future Alameda was pretty solid overall. Not great, but certainly far from bad. The bartenders were nice and friendly

Nice airy, open brewpub. Alameda has a small sidewalk outdoor seating area which is pleasant however Freemont St. can get quite busy so the sound can be loud. The beer was good although I only tried the El Toreoro Organic IPA. It was a well crafted NW IPA. The $3/pint happy hour was a fair deal. I didnít really look at the menu so i canít comment there but the selection and the service were about average for a brew pub.
