100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 jmagnus87 (55) Rockford, Illinois | January 27, 2013 Really cool place. No TVs. Bartenders absolutely knew their beer and had cool bar tricks to go with it. 7 beers on tap with a bunch of bottle choices too. Food was great. Me and the lady split a pizza. Good value for what you get. I had a full pint, plus a flight of the rest of the brews. I can’t wait to go back. | 98 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 SPDickerman (69) Texas | August 14, 2011 I am enamored by this place and their beer. It has some sort of "crazy" feel on the inside, pictures of their beer stuff all over the place with various styles of rock ’n’ roll playing in the background, dim lighting. Almost exceptional service, and they do have a good selection of their own beers on tap, several "tap room only beers" too. Well priced. They do offer food, but I did not have any. I wanna go back, badly. | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 JAF737300 (45) Chicago, Illinois | July 4, 2007 A great place and a must visit. The service is great and the beers are excellent. They are all available for try and growlker fills as well. The food, although modest hits the spot and is of high quality! | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 20/20 sunnyridge (28) | April 4, 2010 I love these guys. Almost didn’t appreciate this gem enough while I was still living in Madison. Great staff and neat story of where they started from. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 Bockyhorsey (53) Mesa, Arizona | October 9, 2006 Visited on July 11, 2006. Location and parking isn’t the best when looking for a parking spot for a disabled person. Beers were great and large selection to try. Bartender was good for pouring samples because I told him I was from out of town and he didn’t need some drunk guy from out of state at his bar all afternoon if I had to drink 10 pints of beer. Good beers, take out in only growlers at the time hopefully they will bottle some of these and the Madison people can trade some good beers to the ratebeer nation. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 Sabrinic (5) Oak Lawn, Illinois | April 28, 2010 We planned a small weekend up in Central Wisconsin and decided to hit up as many breweries as possible. I came across this place on RateBeer and decided we had to try it. I will definitely drive the 2 1/2 hours again just to go to Ale Asylum. Big selection of their own beer, all of it great. Get the sampler - it’s a good value and you get to try 10 beers, 4oz each. Loved the Hopalicious, Bedlam and Ballistic IPA the most. We stocked up on a few 6-packs before we left. You must try this place! | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 XmnwildX12 (47) Farmington, Minnesota | July 8, 2012 Got to enjoy the rather quick and informal tour. Has $2 pints for happy hour and the sampler at $2 a beer (large tasting glasses). Enjoyed the brewers style that is fixated more on the taste of the hop rather than the bitterness. Will definitely stop back when in the area! | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 jewedekind (36) Middleton , Wisconsin | July 19, 2006 Nice place in a way outta the way location. Next to a lab in an industrial park. I won’t repeat ElGaucho’s description because it is dead on. Hope the beer geeks can keep ’em busy because the beers I sampled were all very good. I tried a dubbel and tripel - both excellent. The Nut Brown was very nutty and chewy. The amber reminded me of an Anderson Valley Boont Amber. Hope they are planning on starting small and expanding because Wisconsin has needed a place with these kinds of beers. WHY OH WHY ARE THEY CLOSED ON SUNDAY...WTF??? | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 Thure (10) , Denmark | March 27, 2012 Super interesting beers and a fitting atmosphere to go with them! Very nice and generous tasting flight. Very friendly and knowledgeble staff. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 homebrewlover (11) | December 8, 2010 This is a great place to stop for a few brews, their beer is awesome! |
