86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 cbfobes (25) Madison, Wisconsin | February 2, 2011 My go to place in Madison, great selection of brews and the pizza’s are all pretty solid. I personally liked the pizzas that they had over a year ago when they were hand made, but not a huge deal. Will be a sad day when they out grow this facility and move but happy to see them doing well! | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 Petrucci914 (9) Green Bay, Wisconsin | April 30, 2008 Sadly this place is kind of in the middle of nowhere, and hard to find at first. It’s a nice cozy pub atmosphere with most people shooting the shit and having a good time. The staff is very helpful and know and like their beers. They will give you free samples of beers and will talk to you about the styles they have and even other beers they like, as well as their brewing history. I didn’t have any of their food but was told that their pizzas are quite good. Beers are above average! | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 madcow75 (13) Sun Prairie, Wisconsin | February 11, 2008 I liked this place. Basically a big room with a bar, some tables and a pool table added on to the brewery. Nice modern, industrial feel. Good selection of AA brews, I had the Hopalicious, Oatmeal stout and Scotch Ale. Service was excellent and good to look at. I didn’t have any food, but the pizza smelled good. If you are in town, this is worth stopping in. | 86 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 alagnak (51) Littleton, Colorado | October 26, 2011 In a what seems to be small-brewery standard industrial park on the East side. Tasting room/dining area is really nice, Ale Asylum labels/stickers/posters cover alomst evey square inch of several walls. Nice "woody/Modern" look. Beers were all excellent, food choices looked very good and pretty expansive, though we just threw darts and drank. Definitely a good stop in madison if you’re out on the East side, and worth a side trip even if youre not. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 esjaygee (236) Oak Creek, Wisconsin | April 30, 2009 Finally stopped in Ale Asylum… I love this place. The pizza, made fresh at the brewpub, was excellent… it’s craft pizza so to speak. They offer a wide variety of choices. I already knew the beer here was going to be solid, and I wasn’t let down by the handful of taps I hadn’t tried before. The sampler platter is $1 a glass and you get some pretty good size pours. Building is what it is… In an industrial park, lined with Ale Asylum posters everywhere. Non smoking inside, always a plus. Location is decent, not too far off I-94 and not too bad of a drive from Milwaukee. I’ll definitely add this one when making that all too frequent trip to Tyranena. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 satan165 (101) River Grove, Illinois | December 13, 2008 this is everything a brewpub should be to me. interior and exterior decoration is more then up to snuff, easy to spot and comfortable inside. modern and clean but without being obnixious. with 8 to 9 tappers flowing at all times, including 2 or 3 belgians, you cant go wrong. their american styles are wonderful. their food is simple yet refined and prepared with great care. my bartender jillian was a joy and i also made acquaintance with another employee who preps the food for the sandwiches and even bakes cookies. i would love to sit here and get good and drunk rather then the two beer lunch i did today. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 jlruthven (5) Madison, Wisconsin | July 22, 2011 Nice little place on the outskirts of Madison. Really out of the way, in the sort of location you’d think sells linoleum siding or something. Anyway, you walk in almost directly into the bar area: a few standup tables, a booth or two, couple of pool tables. The bar is great: small, intimate, and you can see the brewery operation itself right behind the bartender. Quite solid draught selection: Bedlam, Ballistic, Big Slick, plus the porter, and a few others. Great for the money, plus you can get growlers for between $10-$15. Definitely going back when I’m in Madison again. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 kbutler1 (79) Minnesota | November 28, 2011 Stopped in on a recent trip while coming back from MI. Sort of off the beaten path but that was ok as there was a WI football game going on and the downtown area was packed. Nice little bar and tables as you first walk in and tables off to the right as well. Friendly staff. Food menu is small but the soup, pizza, and sandwich we got was pretty good. Ended up grabbing a few beers as well. Overall, a cool bar that I would stop in again at. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 Ughsmash (138) Waukesha, Wisconsin | November 26, 2006 As mentioned, this was in a rather odd location. Very cool decor and a free pool table. Non-smoking always a plus. They had samplers of all 10 beers on tap for $10 (3-4 oz each) or $18 (6-8 oz each). Bartenders were friendly and the place was very clean. This would make a fun hangout. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 Lubiere (412) Ottawa, Ontario | January 28, 2013 One of the most beautiful tasting room i have seen...modern, sobre, with burned orange hues, chromium bar, very good and attentive service. Had the shrimp burger which was excellent and at 9$, a deal (served with fries or soup-chili). 7 taps open when i visited, solid offerings. No samplers but free tastes are given if you are nice. Close to the airport! |
