Small tasting bar set up in the warehouse/brewery. Staff was very friendly and helpful, beers of course were great. A buck a taste, can’t beat it. Great place.

I’ve been here maybe half a dozen times, the first time being the 2007 BA Decadence release and the most recent being last Saturday to get my BA Speedways.
Not much has changed over the years other than they’ve moved next door and made a prettier bar/tasting area. It always seems to be pretty busy on Saturdays but getting a beer is never difficult. Nice people, nice atmosphere, great beer.
They offer 1L growlers now which is nice but since I get down there so infrequently Ive never bought one.

Have been here many times. Always a nice place to stop and grab some Alesmith beers and growlers. They have some beers on-tap that typically don’t make it outside of the brewery, the staff is friendly, and the prices are very good.

Visted on Friday18/04/14 around 2.30pm.
Had been really looking forward to Alesmith and the chance to try some ’one off’ brewery only beers, namely Speedway varieties, I left disappointed!
Located in an idustrial unit, the interior is pretty swish with about 6 or 7 tables, all taken, whilst we were there.
Service was very good, the only fail for me was the lack of ’interesting’ beers on tap.
There were only 2 beers I’d not had before, just plain Speedway on the Speedway front.
Nice place but from a tickers point of view really not worth the effort unless you can get some advance info on whats on!

A nicely kept brewery that was a little difficult to find at dusk, but not too hard. The tasting room is somewhat small but there is room to slide out back and grab some grub from a local food truck. The staff stayed busy and that made getting beers ordered take a bit.

A small but adequate tasting room. Very clean and neatly laid out. They has pretty much all the AleSmith standards on tap plus around three or four specials, including one Speedway variant. They offer tasting-size pours on all beers in addition to larger pours. The value is pretty decent. The staff was extremely friendly. A fair range of bottles for takeaway. You can also get growlers of some of the beers (not the specials). Given this brewery’s stature in the beer world I would say this place is a must-visit. It’s right near Hess so take them both in when you’re in the area.

Alesmith let’s you invade their brewery’s barrel room slash warehouse to sample their beers on tap, get growler fills, and purchase bottles to go. The best thing about Alesmith is the staff- extremely knowledgable and super friendly. I talked to one of the women for about 30 minutes about all their beers. Very impressive. Downside here is that unlike Lost Abbey, you can’t sit at the bar and have a few pints. You can only consume plastic cup samplers of what’s on tap. With that said you can get all their bottled normal releases to go along with shirts, glassware. Very nice place not too far out of the way from main San Diego. Definitely come here with empty growlers at the ready!

Modern tasting room, a couple of good surprises available. Worth going out of the way for.

In a busy strip mall, no places to sit, very crowded and uncomfortable. Their available drafts were basically everything they bottle in addition to a good pale ale, a terrible porter, and an ok version of the barrel aged speedway that was to thin and hot at the same time. If they have a Speedway variant on tap, come to tick that but that’s about all your going to do.

Small, unassuming place located on a typical out of town business park. Took probably about 20 minutes to drive there from downtown SD, so not bad at all. About 15 taps offering the full range of Alesmith and some seasonals. Highlight was Decadence 2011 on keg and cask. $1 for a taster is great value. Ambience was so-so, but we were there during the day mid-week. They had a small amount of merchandise on offer as well. It’s obvious that this place is all about the beer and not necessarily about aesthetics. It’s great beer, so who can complain?
