This is a top 5 brewery of mine. Worth the trip back after being sent away because of bottling. Bill, one of the Brewers, was very welcoming. found in the middle of a little business park. RVs with slashed tires parked in the back (done by vandals). Very welcoming. They new all the locals who were coming in for growler fills. Had a pleasing selection on hand. I tried Speedway, Numbskull, Wee Heavy, X, Anvil, Lil Devil, Horny Devil, & Grand Cru. Got a TShirt and a pint Glass. These guys were also able to send us in the right direction to find quality beer in the area as well!

What an interesting place this was. Alesmith is located in an office park. It used to be a car shop. You can tell once you walk in. There’s a desk at the front, and in back there’s all the brewing stuff. It’s far from beautiful and has a very industrial feel. In the back was a tasting area and I talked with the guy there for a while. He knew his stuff. Had quite a few samples, picked up quite a few more bottles ($9 vs 13-15 at home) and their tulip glass. Most stuff there was on tap, including Speedway and a 2 year old Numbskull. At the end talked to the head brewer Peter. It sounds like they’re REALLY busy and struggling to keep up with demand. I can’t wait til that struggle ends, and I’m guessing the feeling is mutual.

As said by others, brewery is a nice little light-industrial complex behind an office building. I walked in the front and a few guys way in the back waved me to come on in. Brewery had a pleasant yeasty smell, as if Horny Devil was fermenting. The staff was very pleasant and willing to talk. I tried many brews, including ’Lil Devil which I learned was a propogation beer made from the wort used to propogate the Horny Devil yeast. I picked up a case of Wee Heavy which was nice, though I was dissapointed that no bottles of Speedway were available. Overall, a fantastic brewery making some fantastic beer.

again, one of the stops on the "beer-trip" this spring break. the brewery is pretty cool and the staff is nice. the tastings were only $0.50! awesome! they have a good selection of beers to taste as well as buy in the giant champage bottles. overall, we were finally able to make it to the brewery rated #1 in the world. i would say it was worth the visit.

Well I finally made it to the craft brewing mecca. As a home brewer, I doesn’t get much better than this. When I arrived, Peter was in the front lobby. He told me to walk through the brewery to get to the tasting bar. There was a good 10 people there doing some tasting (St. Patricks Day). There were 8 beers on tap. All very good of course. Peter and the staff were very friendly and talkative. I was able to walk around the brewery to check things out and take some pictures (no active brewing taking place that afternoon). I was able to purchase 7 of the 8 beers that were on tap. With a case of Alesmith brew and my walet $80 lighter (what a deal), I loaded up and headed back to AZ. I can’t wait to see what they do as they expand thier operation. It will be hard to sit on my 3 bottles of Speedway Stout and not drink’em, but I gotta try. Thanks again Peter.

Went here with MIBRomeo. Got to smell the hops after they were used in a brew they just finished. Very great smell. :) Hoses everywhere. But, it is still a great place to visit. Peter the brewmaster is very accomodating and is a fan of the Vikings (my favorite team). Thanks for the bottle of "you know what", Peter. Plus, I bought a t-shirt.

stopped in on Wed afternoon. Great place to visit, walk through the brewing area to get to a nice tasting area. Great beer & Peter is about as good as they could come in the beer world.

Got here at 3:50 on a Saturday with my buddy Tom from work. Peter was just about to close down shop when we came in. He still let us in and we tried a few beers of the rarer persuasion. Peter is an awesome cat, very easy to talk shop with. This is the typical brewery in a commercial stripmall, but it has a very cool tasting bar in the back. Fun place to visit, awesome beers.

This place is hidden in a business complex. You would never think one of the world’s best breweries would reside here. Skip the brewery tour and go to one of the local beer bars or beer stores to sample the products. Free beer, but overall nothing spectacular. Didn’t have Speedway or any of the BA products on draft.

I was shocked at how small the set up was and that you had to walk through the brewery to get to the tasting area, but once I got there I was pleasantly surprised. I found everyone very helpful, welcoming, and knowledgable. My uncle and I were able to sample to our hearts content bewteen the 7 available brews on tap. Unfortunately, the Old Numbskull was out, but the Wee Heavy and Grand Cru more than made up for the trip.
