Stopped by on a recent trip to SD as I am a big fan. Tasting room was empty when we got there, Green Flash was having a huge event the same day. Two guys working, one was for sure more outgoing then the other as far as discussing the beers. I will agree though with others that have been there, the plastic tasting cups and plastic pint cups are a HUGE turn off. With what these guys charge for their beer, they should be ashamed of themselves! To serve pints and tasters in plastic is a crime! Even though the prices were good, doesnít excuse this faux pas.

Both of their current locations are located in the small industry area of Miramar, within walking distance of each other. The old place at Cabot Drive has more taps, but the new place at Alesmith Court is a lot bigger and the plans for the future look awesome. The beers offered are different, so be sure to check out both locations. Not that many specialties on tap, though. Still definitely worth a visit when in San Diego.

A refurbished warehouse with seating. Itís a little warm during the summer but otherwise a nice place. Taps running a bunch of their year rounds, one cask, and another bunch for the seasonal/limited releases. Staff are obviously knowledgeable and friendly. Simple, clean, and spacious.

A little hard to find in a industrial complex, back corner. Small brewery with little bar and sitting. Food truck in the back of brewery, had some special fruit and bourbon variants of core brews. It was packed with some bottle release(341 Pale). Cool little brewery that is building a huge wherehouse style brewery down the street. Great brews, that reason alone is why I came and will continue go.

Tasting room right in front of their bottling machines. Very modern interieur, many fancy people going in and out. Very knowledgeable staff, very pleasant service. Alesmith has some of the best beers in the world, and the prices are awesome here. Nice T-Shirts and glassware to take with you as well. I love Alesmith!

Stopped in 2 times on my trip to San Diego. The first time they were closed but I made it back another day. Good thing I had some great stuff on tap and picked up a couple BA bottles for take out. Funny place in a strip mall/industrial type area. The inside was great a few barrels some Tony Gwyn stuff. Along with the bar and a few tables.

Ale Smith puts out some of the best beer anywhere. This location is a pretty small tasting room, but they had some good stuff on tap. Itís near many other breweries, so itís definitely worth a visit if youíre in the area.

Had to stop here and beers did not dissapointreally great beers as expected. I did not try the sausages they weregrilling outside. The staff was usy but attentive and quick. The one negative is the place is way way too small.. There were probably 100 people in a 500 square foot room and tiny bathroom with a line. They need more space but otherwise awesome.

Picked up bottles a few weekends ago with t0rin0, then returned later in the day to sample some scrumptious Speedway variants (including the Beer Geek collaboration). Really cool place. Would like to see what it is like without being packed wall to wall with people. Tents set up out back with food trucks (had a shitty chicken sandwich from one of the trucks, but wonít count that in the rating). They were doing Speedway flights, four 4 oz pours for $9 - an awesome deal. The only thing missing is a sweet patio setup to take advantage of the beautiful San Diego weather.
