The place to go for everything railway - even an old digital clock in a style Iíd completely forgotten about until now. The Alexandra is close to the station and also close to the Brunswick. They have eight or ten hand pumps with Castle Rock beers and guests.

Obvious a well-established community pub in the railway area and next to Brunswick Arms. A main room with the public bar decorated by railway memorabilia and a lounge with a rabbit, strange indeed! Four cask ales from Castle Rock and four guest ales supported by a decent bottled range. Polite service and relaxing atmosphere. Background music to our liking from Rush, Bad Company and Free. We stayed here until closing time enjoying the beers, music and friendly mood (last pub on our Sunday pub crawl in Derby 22.02.2015).

Visited february 2015, with beery friends. Oldstyle pub, with a train theme. Placed close to the station, very easy to find. Few beers on tap, served in good condition. Seemed a bit like a local mans pub.

Wonderful traditional railway pub near Derby station. Lots of Castle Rock beers, plus a few very interesting guest beers (including on my visit an English Gose). Great beer and service guarantee that youíll never be ice cold in the Alex.

Really good boozer. Traditional decor and dartboard. Nice range of casks and a friendly welcome. Very close to the station.

A good place to drop by for a pint near the railway station. The selection here was good enough to keep me occupied for a few hours. If you do run out of things the Brunswick Inn is always just around the corner. This would be on my "must stop" list if I only had one day to take in all the pubs of Derby.

I actually slept at this place for 4 nights. Itís not really an hotel, but the landlord is most excellent, chatty, relaxed, laid-back and welcoming. Obviously the best service Iíve received in any British pub. The atmosphere is laid-back, itís a really small place when they donít open the second room. A proper boozer with locals chatting and less popular than the neighbour (Brunswick). Still, a lovely spot and one of the cityís top 4. A solid, varying range of cask ales in good condition.

An excellent, friendly pub - full of locals, good beer, a fire in the grate, and darts being played - what more could you ask for. Other than the perfect pint of Elsie Mo that was served up.
