Right across Schlenkerla. They serve great local food and pour fresh beers from Mahrs and others. Friendly and cosy. They got their own beer brewed by Mahrs - Helles Ringlein.

No place at Schlenkerla ? , right across you find this restaurant. Did not eat but went for few beer scoops while thinking of next destination. Service was notch friendlier than most of Bamberg spots. Maybe it was my lucky day?

Beautiful place, with hotel. Good traditional frankish menu with local specialties. Normal price level. Beers are served fresh and chilled. Only place to get Ringlas Helles, and the young tattooed man suggested an Ungespundet Kellerbier from Mahrs, which was an excellent suggestion, which helped me finishing a huge lunch dish.

Large and imposing hotel opposite Schlenerka and handy for a beer when many of the other pubs are not open earlier in the day. It looks popular for food. We found the service to be tardy and a little brusque after we mentioned that we were there just for drinks, but hey ho, its not a problem. The building is imposing and grand, it made a great place to visit.

Visited July 2013. Sat outside on an insanely hot evening and tried the house beer, which was good. The main benefit of the place as far as I can see is location in the old town, and that it is right across from Schlenkerla. Perhaps the food or accommodation are good, I can’t say.

I stayed here, but onlyt visited the Biergarten once, for a quick Ringlas Helles. Decent, middle-of-the-road helles. Lovely place though, with friendly service. I’ll happily recommend the hotel, good price/quality ratio

Visited several times, great restaurant in the city center. Traditionel german food, well made. Nice beers from local micros as well, served with a smile and in good codition. There is a nice beergraden as well, as it is a hotel. Cosy atmosphere, for sure worth going for a meal if you are in Bamberg

Very busy on a Saturday evening, but very food orientated. Died once serving was over, not really much of a bar feel to it despite the layout. Couldn’t imagine drinking here much if I was a local.

Former brewery (brewing ceased in the 1950’s) in the touristy heart of BA; now only a large Gasthof and also a large hotel; one house-beer(from Mahrs) is available… If You want better beers and better food, try the Kachelofen (St.Georgen!) or the Schlenkerla in the neighbourhood. But avoid to enter the Ambräusianum!!!

Sat outside, peaceful place and good spot for catching the tour groups from the corner of your eye. I’d rather eat at its neighbor (Kachlofen, and they have St Georgen), drink at its neighbor (Schlenkerla), and even do both at its other neighbor (Ambräusianum), but it’s definitely worth the twenty minutes off your feet for the tick. My service was OK but it was really, really slow and bad for the woman near me.
