Finally made it here. My first stop to the iconic brewery was made for the release of their brandy barrel aged Flying Clouds stout, so perhaps a special experience, though I did not do a tour (wasn’t available).
From the outside, this place certainly doesn’t look like much, kind of a non-descript rundown industrial building. Inside, however, it’s incredibly well maintained and the space sort of exudes history.
The service from the bartenders and retail store staff was excellent and they were very friendly. Of course, the beers are good though perhaps not entirely exciting for many people these days. Had the obligatory pour of Anchor Steam which was great, as usual, and really highlights how crappy most of the beers that try to copy it are.
Definitely recommend coming here if you can. I will certainly be trying to make a return for a tour.
A great brewery tour (I got an insiders’ tour that included their amazing roof and a tasting through their liquor importer line up - Asian whiskey!!!).
Very knowledgeable tour guides and staff. Great fun all around.
Un ecxelente tour cervecero, en el cual conoces la historia y actualidad de la cervecería.
El personal es muy atento y capacitado, su variedad de cervezas es genial, el lugar es muy bonito.
Definitivamente vale la pena.

One of my favorite brewery tours ever. It’s a real taste of the history of craft beer in an interesting area of san francisco. Nicely kept, clean and with most often with informative docents/and or people in the tap room.
