92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 dchmela (100) Orlando, Florida | May 6, 2013 Tough place to get a tour, as they book up some 6 weeks on advance. Excellent tour, with lots of historical information and then a tasting of all of their beers. Our tour guide surprised us by popping open a magnum of 2010 Christmas ale. Awesome! A must visit if you can book a tour. Best of all, it's free as well as 2 posters they gave us | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 adamjackson (112) Canaan, New Hampshire | February 21, 2013 Reserve your tour way in advance, awesome classic old equipment and these guys are churning out tons of beer for a small setup. In a very rural part of town. I think the breweing setup is the most awesome thing about stopping here. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 17/20 devman171 (53) Annapolis , Maryland | January 31, 2013 One of my favorite brewery tours, must call for reservation way in advance. Tour is free with samples of all taps! Was cool to see them brewing during the tour | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 Schlenkerla (208) , Austria | January 2, 2013 Most impressive are the huge mash tun and the brew kettles. The brewery tour is decent. Unfortunately no special brews were available in the tasting room. A must visit though, due to the historic value of this brewery. We visited on the day when Maytag announced to sell the business, so was a bit sad. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 20/20 JaredStrike (1) San Francisco, California | May 8, 2012 Awesome place! How can one not like Anchor Brewing Co.? They are the oldest living brewery in San Francisco. Great people and great beers! | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 nemeab (8) Alberta | April 26, 2012 I’m sure it has something to do with planning my last trip to San Fran around a tour of the Anchor Brewery but what a place. The tour group I was with was diverse and kinda quirky and the history, explanation and beer was WORLD CLASS.
Well Done! | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 Kevster (47) Bradenton, Florida | April 6, 2012 03/22/12 Tour visit: A wonderful experience on my San Francisco visit. Tour guide (Daniel) was excellent and very informative. Enjoyed seeing the "hops room" and the bottling line. Loved the ambiance and history of this place. Tour was casual and not rushed. It ended with eight (8) four (4) ounce tastings of their solid beers.......all free! Must make a reservation months in advance! | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 16/20 TEJA (41) Stockholm, Sweden | March 16, 2012 Friendly and a landmark for all that love the microbrewery beer. If Maytag hadn’t saved Anchor Brewing Co. the microbrewery industry would perhaps not have started whebn it did.
The building is quite strange compered to other breweries I’ve been to but so much culture. Perhaps the guides needs to learn a bit more but they sertanly are friendly. | 100 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 20/20 notmarr2000 (7) Lawton, Oklahoma | August 31, 2011 I am very glad I booked a tour on my trip to San Francisco. The tour was informative and friendly. You get to see the brewing process in action, fermenting tanks at the basement level, and even the bottling line. I was very impressed with the causal family atmosphere among the employees. I expected a large "corporate" operation from a brewer that distributes around the world. I still can’t fathom how they brew enough beer to satisfy the demand. The beer sampling at the end was awesome and a lot of fun. I felt at home discussing beer with the guide. I left Anchor feeling mildly buzzed and happy and enjoyed a walk around the scenic area. |
