66 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 AndySnow (47) Stockholm, Sweden | April 20, 2013 Nice small place. Got full very quickly. Have a nice selection of Japanese micros. Friendly staff. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 baggio (30) norrtälje, Sweden | September 4, 2012 A very nice little bar in Roppongi with a great selection of beer and good selection of cheap snacks and barfood. Service was quick and the beers were all in good condition. I have a real problem understanding a few ratings of this place. Will definitely visit next time i’m in Roppongi. | 48 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 4/10 OVERALL 8/20 nate2g (447) Boomtown! / Waikato, New Zealand | June 27, 2012 First thing you notice is how expensive this bar is, even by Tokyo standards. A couple of beers we tried ordering were not available and they hadn’t bothered crossing them off the list - frustrating. Staff were disinterested other than taking cash from your wallet. If you need another reason to avoid Roppongi this is probably it. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 ultimatepoche (44) Lille, France | April 22, 2012 A very friendly and little pub in the amazing Roppongi corner of the city. Open very late, I was there to end a party night with friends. Choice was really cool, brews from Japan of course, but not only. The barmaid was really cool and speaked a very good english ( as good as mine ) She explained a lot to me regarding brews and Japanese tongue. A bit pricy maybe, but Tokyo is very expensive even for industrial beers... Overall a very cool little pub to enjoy oneself and have a good brew with friends. | 70 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 14/20 EdKing (101) London, England | January 12, 2012 The end of this night and I was fairly far gone, but a nice typical downstairs bar with couple of girls running things who seemed to know there stuff on beer when asked. Beer quality was good. I’m only in Japan for the Ji-birus so this was good with 15ish on tap. Had the Ise Kadoya Oyster Stout which was nice and a couple of others. Food was also tasty and interesting. And extra points for being open on a Sat night at 2am when everything else was closed! | 42 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 1/10 OVERALL 6/20 jonno (106) , Japan | December 28, 2011| Updated June 27, 2012 I will give this place extra points for being in a non craft friendly location, but really there are better options around. I will go baCack to rerate, as i hear they get some rare stuff, but on my visit 5 taps ran dry and weren’t replaced. In fact I had to order three times before I got my first beer! They are trying and are quite friendly, but at the moment there aeren’t too many positives, beside the location. The decor is VERY low key, like an average Izakaya. RERATE Three times there, three times out of the beer I want without any notice on the tap list. Prices are insane - 940 yen for a half pint, 1260 yen for a US pint. Staff are not really bad, but not interested. Will not be back again, considering the options in Tokyo. If you find yourself in Roppongi it’s for cheap beer and cheaper women. | 80 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 SweetHorizon (10) , New Zealand | November 28, 2011| Updated June 27, 2012 A welcomed respite from the madness that is Roppongi on Halloween, this was really quiet but had some really good Japanese beer (some of the best I tasted on my trip) bar staff were friendly and spoke English well enough. Highlights here was the Yokohama XPA and Minoh Imperial Stout. Cool beer bar, if you are in Roppongi hit this place up. | 82 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 17/20 TimE (217) Tokyo, Japan | August 1, 2011| Updated November 16, 2011 Small place that feels out of place in the middle of Roppongi (on main drag between the station and Hobgoblin, right below Abbots Choice pub in the basement). Not surprisingly lots of foreigners. 15-20 taps of only Japanese micros. Lots of random stuff and lots of seasonals, but generally well picked stuff. Prices are a bit high, but expected in Roppongi. Not a place I would want to stay a long time, but certainly good for a couple of beers. Decent food that is well priced. Friendly staff. Worth a stop if in Roppongi - notice the operating hours as well. Very unique!
I am bumping the score up a bit, as these guys are really consistent in getting obscure beers. Wow, the score should go higher, these guys get shit no one else in Tokyo even bothers. Best selection of Japanese craft beer in Tokyo hands down. I am constantly in awe of the tap selection. Pure genius behind the selection. Total respect. |
