Kind of a dark, grungy bar across the road from Federal Taphouse. Many taps pouring and a solid focus on PA breweries, with a few that we were not familiar with. The bartender was happy to pour a few samples for us before we committed to a full pour. Pizza slices can be ordered for snacks. Well worth a look to find something interesting on tap.

This was the best place we found in Harrisburg center. Right on the main strip, so street or garage parking. Long narrow place, a bit dark. Lots of choices, mostly local beers, including some from very small breweries. Not the cleanest serving conditions, perhaps more frequent line cleaning would help. Very friendly service. Only pizza slices when we visited, so we did not partake. Worth a look.

has a nice selection of beers, around 80 taps i think, but over priced. Some pints around $7 that you can get for 5 elsewhere. have not tried the food. honestly federal tap house is across the street, go there instead, at least you will get a clean nice atmosphere to justify the overpriced beer.

Located in downtown Harrisburg on the main drag. It was dead on the night I went populated by the people who escaped from a narcotics anonymous meeting. They had 80 taps but many of them were either empty or boring. I was surprised they had so little of interest. It took me a while to find something I hadn’t had. Even though the bartender was nice I don’t think I’ll be going back any time soon.

The artist formerly known as "Shady’s downtown," is now Anthony’s Micro Pub. I have been in here a few times since the change. Time to update my review. Atmosphere can be all over the place. I have been in when I am the only person, and other times when they have been packed two deep. Happy hour is very busy thanks to the half price beers and free pizza. I suggest going then. Quality is up and down. Food is good quality pizza shop food and they have some great beers to offer but they also have a few too many old IPA’s for my tastes. Couple month old flower pour should be taken off not sold to unsuspecting customers. Prices are all over as well. Some beers are priced well, others too high. Food prices are pretty good tho. Service is good. The bartenders are nice and attentive but some of their explanations for beers are just plain hilarious. No big deal if you don’t know the answer to their question, just say so... Selection is pretty damn good, especially for the downtown area, I have never had a problem finding beers to drink. They sport a ton of taps with plenty of good beers to try. They definitely have far too many old IPA’s and empty taps for my liking. They could get rid of about 20 taps and be much better off. Food is mostly just pizza shop grub. Pizza’s, Stromboli’s, Sub’s and Wings make up most of the items people seem to get. I have had the pizza plenty of times. It has always been pretty good but not earth shattering. Overall a fun place to stop downtown, especially for that Half Price Happy Hour of theirs.

Former location of Shady McGrady’s (they still have the other location though). Long, not quite a hole-in the wall, downtown bar that also serves pub grub and pizza. Great selection of regionals and other great micros on the 60 taps, and none that I selected were tapped out the two nights I visited. Half price on all micros from 4-6 PM was a great deal. Relaxed atmosphere with lots of locals and 5-6 TVs with sports etc, but thankfully its more about the beer and the conversation here. Nice selection of bottles and cans to go also.
