I think that you will be impressed with your visit here. I have been here 4 times.
At a beer festival, at a live XPN radio concert, and twice for dinner.
The place is usually hoppin.
The food is good.
The beer selection is very good. They will AT Least have two beers on the list that will impress you whenever you visit - even if you are picky. Watch where you park. If you have to park too far away - you might get a ticket from a meter maid. They just bought an old condemned building that they are having torn down nearby so as to create another parking lot. This should be a great help.

Parking is lacking given the size of the place. Cool look to the place. Old school brick building. A good amount of seating inside. The upstairs is pretty large. We were given a tour, so they werenít using it at the time. But there are 2 stages for live music, and a large back area for events. Decent sized bar that probably fits upwards of 15 or so. Decent variety of taps, though the beers are all just okay. Service is very good. Food is pretty good.

I came to ABC while in town on business, this was my second time here so I went in knowing what to expect.
A: The place doesnt look all that great from the outside as it is an old three story brick building with a barren facade but once you get inside, it has the warm feeling of a really nice brewpub. Plenty of tables for seating, nice bar area, several TVs hung about with european flags and murals to their beers.
Q: The beers that I ordered (complete flight) were roughly about a 3.5 in quality rating, some were better than others but passable in almost all instances.
S: Service was decent, the place was half full when I went in and the waitress was attentive and helpful.
S: They offered 8 beers on their flight and there were an additional 3 more to purchase including two barrel aged beers, a good variety amongst the different styles and not much overlapping.
F: Food was okay, a little pricey for the medicore quality. Avoid the grilled romaine salad, it sounded interesting but the char left the lettuce too tough to cut through.
V: Prices were decent...between a full flight, quesadillas, and the grilled romaine salad it came to 27 dollars.
Overall, a nice place to visit when you are in the area...definitely not a MUST SEE type of place but decent enough to grab a bite and a pint. They also have a belgian beer bar on the 2nd floor but it was closed when I went there.

Staff and clientele told me this is the original Appalachian location, and therefore much better than the others. It was certainly a plus to sit at the bar and watch the two brewers at work. They had a dozen beers, two on cask, and most were very solid, some were better than solid. Food was very tasty, and they even had homemade hot sauce that a customer brought it that really lights your fire. But the highlight was the genuinely friendly staff and other customers, they were terrific. Iíd come back here in a heartbeat.

I came in for lunch after hearing rave reviews from friends in the area. Ambiance and setting is excellent on first floor. Menu prices seem higher also, I didn't see any lunch specials. Just full dinner menu.
I tried a pumpkin rye seasonal. Draft. It is ok with a mild aroma of pumpkin but lighter and more bland than most Octoberfest beers I've had. It may be more of a lady friendly beer. I also ordered a boo boo burger for lunch. Burger was made well and has root beer BBQ sauce. Very unusual taste. It was pretty good. Different. Service was pretty good also. Worth a try but keep expectations at a reasonable level.

Iím sorry, but a brewpub needs to have at least one or two "go to" beers for me to endorse it any higher than this. Beers tend toward bland and thin, and while they try a lot of interesting styles here, the results generally fall short of the mark. Perfect example--I attended their beer fest, but tasted none of ABCís beers. Not a conscious decision, just how it played out. I did try most of the homebrew clubís beers that were there, though.

I have been here plenty of times, I have no idea why I havenít reviewed this place yet, that changes now.
Parking can be tough if there is a concert going on at the abbey bar. Once you enter you are greeted by a huge dining room with lots of tables all over the space. The brewery can be seen through the wall on the right, with all different countries flags all over the walls. Toward the back of the room is the large curved bar with plenty of seats. TVís and the draft list hangs on the wall behind the bar. They usually have quite a few of there own beers on at all times. I always like to check what is on cask first, they are usually much better...I will say that they really do have a great variety of house beers, but some of them need some tweaks to compare to other local brewery standards.
I really enjoy there food. I have liked nearly everything I have tried, recent favorites include the Poutine and the switchback burger. The quality has always been pretty good. I do know quite a few people who have not been as lucky as I have, pieces of seafood shells in the cheddar soup comes to mind.
The abbey bar may be even better than the downstairs area. They have most of the same beers on-tap but they also have quite a few belgian beers. It is always nice to get a saison dupont and sit outside on the deck in the summer. They always have bands playing up in the abbey, it really is one of the best places to see a show in the area. Overall ABC is definitely worth the stop if you are in the area.

Although the beers are not outstanding, I like this place. Best is the onion/cheese soup. Large variety of home brewed beers, nice atmosphere.

Visited on a Tuesday evening. Had dinner there, atmosphere was quiet but nice, food was good, prices were decent, especially on the beer. You can get a 54 oz flight of tasters for ten bucks. Service was good, restaurant style. The beers arenít incredible but drinkable. Good place.
