Wine shop located near Haymarket with a decent beer selection. Fairly comprehensive Scottish selection and some American stuff, but really nothing that I couldnít find elsewhere. The guy working there was however rather helpful and friendly. A decent stop if in the area, but I was bit underwhelmed given some of the other glowing reviews!

Small specialist wine & beer store very close to Haymarket Station. Managed by a friendly Ratebeer enthusiast and carries a great selection of interesting Scottish & international beers. Has good beer tasting evenings. A must visit if passing through Haymarket station.

Decent bottle shop in Edinburgh, great owner, very helpful and friendly, little pricier than some, but well located for train station (haymarket) and usually a few new ones for me

Of the three off licenses in Edinburgh (Appellation, Cornelius, Great Grogg), Appellation has a selection, both amount of craft beer and size of selection, that is either the best or close to it. Additionally, the shop has fortnightly beer tastings, offering customers the ability to taste new beers that have come in as well as introducing craft beer to newcomers. One may find that selection does not rotate quickly but there are perhaps 130 different beers to choose from in the shop.

Small shop in the west end of Edinburgh that has an extensive selection of beers from Scotland and Belgium plus a few varieties from elsewhere. This was my first visit to the shop and I was impressed with the selection and the friendliness of the staff.

Thereís definitely an East-West split in Edinburgh when it comes to bottle shops. Over East thereís Cornelius, at Haymarket Appellation Wines. Run by the extremely enthusiastic Ashton, Appellation stocks maybe 100 beers Ė a good range of Scottish, American craft beer, and German labels. Gets the occasional rarer item in but due to space constraints the range doesnít very as much as Cornelius maybe. But the tastings held there and the helpful advice put it over the edge (plus itís closer to my flat). A bottle shop that stocks every beer by Fyne Ales and Highland canít be doing much wrong. Great range of wines too, if thatís your thing. Can be a little pricey though - but you certainly get what you pay for.

A small shop near Haymarket in Edinburgh. Owner Ash is always up for a discussion of beers and gives good recommendations, especially on Scottish Beer. Very nice selection of Scottish Craft Beer and a good deal from around the world, especially the US. Less fun when Ash is not there. Has a good selection of Wines as well. Does tastings several times a month with visiting experts. Prices are in the high end, but that comes with the wide selection.

A great shop with a more-than-decent range of unusual beers, not commonly found elsewhere in Edinburgh. The proprietor, Ashton, is very friendly, knowledgeable and keen to help. A very pleasant place to browse and pick up a few new friends! Also does frequent tastings - wine, beer and whisky.
