This is the place to go to for good swedish craft beer. Very friendly staff and excellent food.

Walked passed this innocuous looking entrance to this place several times even though I was looking out for it. Eventually had to consult the map! Once inside you are greeted by a long bar - stylishly designed and decorated. There are a lot of taps here and the selection is mostly Swedish micros - a very good selection it is too. There were no less than 4 DIPAs on during my visit. Service was exemplary. Quick, friendly and knowledgeable. The small tasting glasses at 30Kr a pop were (for Stockholm) good value and meant I could rip through quite a few beers. The food was very very good indeed. Wonderful sweet (almost cake like) bread and also sour and salty bread accompanied delightful modern twists on Swedish cuisine. The food would have got maximum marks but for over seasoning, i afterwards I was spitting salt for a good half hour. But the taste of the food was fantastic. A really nice place to visit and I was sorry when I had to leave. Frankly this place knocked spots off of Oliver Twist and the Bull and Bear. Haven’t mentioned the whisky because I am not in to them but there is an impressive array that should delight an enthusiast.

Very expensive, but good range of both whiskies and beers. Service is good.

A temple to whisky and beer in among the souvenir shops and currency exchange bureaus on the main tourist drag of the old town. There’s a very impressive range of whiskies from around the world and I counted 27 taps, all serving Swedish beers. I could easily have been spoiled for choice but I had to have the Ardbeg Embassy Number One. It’s brewed by Strömsholms for them and the barman told me that it’s made with Islay malt, very smoky and only available here. Unfortunately I really do not like whisky (despite having tried my best to acquire a taste for it when on holiday in Scotland) and I wasn’t keen on the beer at first either – it tasted like germolene. However, as it says on the Ardbeg Embassy menu, “good beer takes time” so I sipped slowly and it gradually grew on me. The place itself is quite pleasant and chic. It’s long and narrow at the front, opening up into a large area at the back where there are tables for diners and a wall displaying hunting trophies such as antlers, a couple of elk or reindeer heads and, bizarrely, a zebra’s head. The service was friendly enough but a bit slow as there was only one barman at first. It was like waiting for a London bus though because two or three more appeared all at once just as he got round to serving me. (Visited 2 March 2013).

Nice place with great music and friendly bartenders. Expensive, but this is Stockholm. Very good range of draft beers. Plenty of whisky as well, if that’s your thing. Worth visiting if you’re in Stockholm.

One more update.
Last visit was in November 2012.
Been here many times with the place having many different names and much different staff. Also the beer selection have varied a lot over time.
Simple way of getting here is to take green or red line metro to Gamla Stan, walk straight up to Västerlånggatan and take a right, walk until you see the flag on the right hand side.
Selection is decent, prices are fairly high, service is OK.
I am biased since I have seen and experienced both selection and service decline over the years, so I tend to not seek this place out any longer. This coupled with it being located in a very touristy area with high prices just have me frequent the place less every time I go back to Stockholm.

Clean, white, right angles, a little antiseptic apart from the mural on one wall and the whisky selection on the other. OK selection of beers, the house beer’s worth trying, certainly, but strangely a lot of the stuff they have here is from Macros (8 Wisby beers, which are Spendrups, I believe). A fraction cheaper than the truly great places in town, and to be honest, I think I’d rather drink 4/5ths of the number of beers in one of the the other places. Sure, in no way a bad place, but not gelling with me.

Minimalistic nordic style of place. Maybe too "clean and sunny" for a pub, but nether the less one of must visit places in Stockholm. Nice selection of beers and whiskys. The Ardbeg Embassy No 1 is a must have beer here. Didn’t have chance to try food, but will do so next time.

A nice and cool upscale beer&whisky bar with a small, but good selection of Swedish micros on tap.

Very cool bar in old town Stockholm on one of the main streets. Very high class decor/interior with a ton of whiskeys and a really cool menu of game meats and traditional Swedish foods. All the tap beers are Swedish micros, which is sort of a rarity. Most of them weren’t very good, unfortunately. But, this is a really cool place. They will also do tasters of beers for about 30 SEK.
