Classic pizza joint, pretty clean. Sat at the bar so got prompt service. Food was good, beer was decent, prices were decent. I have to admit to being exhausted and a little beered-out when I got here, but overall decent. It it hadn’t been chilly, it looked like they had a nice outdoor area.

First stop on trip, mostly because of location and we were hungry for lunch. Beers across the board were solid, nice sampler of everything. We skipped the amazingly cheap lunch buffet of pizza and ordered off the menu. Nice artichoke dip with a lot of artichoke. My calzone was solid, and my wife’s nachos were quite good, with a nice fresh salsa. Our service was friendly and prompt. Maybe they have pulled their act together - this wasn’t bad, and the pricing was fantastic.

Wooden tables and chairs centered around a bar with the brewery in the back. Service was nice, but I went with a friend that knew people who worked there; that being said they took us on an unofficial brewery tour and showed us the canning line in action, pretty cool. Selection is all there production beers, which none are mind blowing. Food is pizza, nothing special, but not bad. Price is the best part, super cheap for pretty much all the beer and the food was down there too. Worth a stop if you’re on a budget, but I suggest the Merrimon one if you want to try something special or have a better experience.

reviewing from notes, visited December 2011, Not my favorite location. The space feels empty and industrial in a bad way. Service was OK, the prices were great. I don’t love their beer in general, but if I were interested in trying their latest offering, I wouldn’t pick this location.

Everything about this place is good except their beer. Most of them are pretty underwhelming, especially compared to the other breweries in town. Great food and atmosphere though. If you just want a lager or a pale ale, this is your place.

Originally reviewed: 1/11/10. Stopped here for dinner when in town for a Midlake concert. Just down the street from Thirsty Monk. The place is an old warehouse-looking building. Inside consisted of 2 great rooms, each with a couple of TVs. Little decor, a pretty boring looking place. Not many people there on a Sunday evening. No matter, I was watching the Packers and may have been distracting. ;) Ordered a flight of 5 of their brews. Each came in 4 oz. pours. Got one of their IPAs, APA, Porter, Stout, and a Scottish Brown. All brews were above average. Especially enjoyed their Pale Ale and their Ninja Porter. Also ordered a pizza, which was stellar! I would definitely come back here when in town and would recommend it to a friend. Great food and decent beer.

Beer was mediocre, buffet was not fresh. The fire escape beer made up for it all though.

Well I had a pretty crappy experience here. It’s a shame as its my last stop this visit to Asheville. The beer was solid and well priced. However the food (which was well priced) was pretty mediocre when I finally got all of it. The bartender/server seemed more interested in chatting than serving and I waited a long time to get food, get the rest of my food (they dropped some on the way out), get my check, etc. I will patronize the other location from now on.

stopped in on 1/21/12 after the brewfest. had been to the other location before but this was right around the corner from the hotel. nothing fantastic feature wise typical bar pizza place. had some nachos and salsa both very good. not store bought for sure. the pints were $3/each which is a steal in my book. seen others eating food looked great and i am sure its pretty good. shall go back again in future.
