This place is simply awesome. Dark, wooden theme with brick wall on one side. I recognized it immediately after walking in that it was the bar I remembered from my only previous visit to Ann Arbor, 12 years earlier in 1993. It was memorable to me then and it is memorable to me now. Astonishing selection of 60 taps, plus a ton of quality bottles. The taps are not your standard Bud, Guinness fare. These are harder to find gems like Dogfish Head 90 minute, Dark Horse Crooked Tree IPA, Bells Oberon, Dragonmead Final Absolution, Founders Dirty Bastard, New Holland Mad Hatter IPA, and Unibroue Ephemere. Upstairs there are 3 TVs and a top of the line jukebox. The downstairs "Underground" has a cool mural and theme of the London Underground. You feel like you are in a subway station. The only detraction I could find was the lack of an outdoor patio. This is simply a must stop when in Ann Arbor.

A great beer bar. Huge tap list nothing super rare but still a great selection. A number of beers are available on hand-pull and the ones I sampled were served at a good temp. and seemed well handled. Service was quite good. Smoke is rather bothersome, but this is after all a bar.

I had an absolute blast the other night. I’m not sure if there was a private party going on or what - but the entire bar was alive and singing classic songs from the jukebox all night. It was strange to see grown men and women as well as the college kids doing that - but hey. Most important - the BEER! They have 70 freekin draughts on tap! Awesome selection in draught AND bottle! Overall - I was very impressed and plan on going back real soon.

Prices weren’t too bad. Waitress was friendly. It was nice with table service until late, which is definitely better than the typical shoulder-to-shoulder crunch at other local bars.

Service was great when I went. The friendly barkeep offered up samples of comparable beers to ones I ordered. When two beers that I ordered were unavailable I was sent seven samples of similar style beers with no charge. Food was good. Highly recommended.

Only in for two nights while visiting my brother. As in many places, I think it depends on who the server is and how your interaction goes. I was lucky to find a fine fellow behind the bar that after a bit appreciated my passion and said he would pour me samples all night if that's what I wanted. Very nice offer, and I did have quite a few, but prefer the full pint. He later made the comment that I looked like a kid in a candy store. Too true. Perhaps not the hugest selection, but loads that don't make it my way.

Visited this place with the Ratebeer crew following the Michigan Brewer's Festival. Long list of beers on tap, with more in the bottle. Nothing too obscure or mind-blowing, but some good stuff nonetheless. Agree that the staff was friendly but a little slow. Had a good time, though.

I always like a bar/pub with hard wood/brass interior and lots of beer decor. If you are lookin for a quieter, more private evening, they have wonderful booths. Beer selection is wonderful, with many good sampler flights. They are always out of cask ales when I go and they have never had more than one selection. Staff is very friendly, maybe not the fastest, but still great. Food has a great variety and plenty of healthy options.
