Really glad that we stopped here, across the street from Saint Michaelís church, a famous church that Ludwig II was wrapped up in. The bierhalle and restaurant is huge, going on for about half a mile, but partially divided into several seating choices to make it feel more like a restaurant. Had their hefe and dunkel on tap, which were both phenominal, in addition to the soft pretzels that were on the table. The service was responsive and friendly, and I was very happy to have made the stop.

Nice spot. Big interior rooms with plenty of seating. A modest range of beers. Very friendly staff (something of a marked contrast against the servers from some of the nearby beer hall joints). The beers here arenít the most complex in the world but they are among the most drinkable. I had a great time here and would recommend a visit.

Beautiful traditional beer hall. Food and beer is average munich Brauhaus stuff. Service is below average: I have been there two times in different seasons, everytime slow service and unfriendly staff. Always crowded by tourists. Apart from the beautiful architecture and interior not really worth a visit as there are way better beer halls in Munich in my opinion.

Real Germanic place, with nice vaults and huge lampadari. Old style. Some beer is fresh and good. Ordinary German pub grub.

A big bierhalle and quite dull place mostly for attracting tourists at least I didnít get any specially good wibes from the atmosphere visiting in the middle of the day. Few Augustiner beers available and service was just ok. Not a very good place compared to Augustiner Bršustuben.

Augustiner joint in the city centre. Absolutely mobbed on the weekend of the German cup final. Had the slight feel of a German Witherspoons. In the sense that it occupied a very grand piece of real estate right in the city centre. The place was mobbed, the service was slow, the pretzels were good. Stayed for one then bailed.

As a beer lover nowhere near as good as the Braustubl as the tacky tourism/commercialism overrides the beery atmosphere. The architecture however and the good quality Augustiner beers still make this place a worthy quick visit! On a weekday in winter they can close early.

Paid many a visit here over the years, most recently Octí 09 for Nuttys stag.
Trad beer hall 10 to 15 minutes walk from the HBF with most Augustiner beers availlable.
This place is always busy when I visit, be it lunch or evening.
Have eaten here once and the food was decent but unspectacular.
Service prompt and efficient typical of a Munchen venue - middle aged slightly bossy women!
From memory they close at midnight and are keen to kick you out ASAP!
Well worth stopping by here.

Kick ass beer hall in between Karlsplatz and Marienplatz. Sure, itís full of tourists but the hendl was excellent, the servers werenít too smug, and the beer is great. Neat place to hit near the Glockenspiel (just donít be expecting to find a bunch of ticks here)

A typical old building containing an old beer hall, just love it.
Great atmosphere, the beer list is small, but what the heck do you need a big list for when you get a liter of beer, cheap, and have a chat with locals and laugh and laugh.
As said before and now known why, good atmosphere, didnít have any of the food, but got some liters of beer for prices that the Dutch could learn from.
Close to the train station and somewhat in the middle of the city. Many of these places all around and in Munich. Lovely places to visit, old, historical and just an outstanding friendly atmosphere.

Great old beer hall; good food (had duck with red cabbage and potato dumpling); was in a large group and service was excellent. Augustiner beer is ALWAYS great
