Bierhalle over the road from Hofbrauhaus. Not worth trying to get in to if you are a big squad. They ’don’t accept groups’. This is something the well dressed patron informed me of when it looked like our ranks were sweling beyond 3. The place is very nice and far more sedate than it’s roudy neighbour across the street. The atmosphere is more reserved and designed more for locals than tourists. They rotate their beers seasonally (German style) and regrettably had no Marzen or Doppelbock when I was there. The Kellerbier was delicious though. The food looked magnificent but all I had to eat was the pretzels. Well worth a stop.

Nice restaurant across the street from Hofbräuhaus. Go here instead, much more pleasant, less noisy and smaller place. Ayinger beers served fresh from tap. Really tasty food also. Staff is efficient and nice. Went here total 3 times in my six days of München.

Booked a table in advance earlier in the day to avoid disappointment. Nice rooms, and all staff very friendly and smiling. And not pushy at all, which was a welcome change from the other places we went to. Food was very good and their beers also very enjoyable. Seven Ayinger beers on tap. Would definitely come back and what a shock to go to Hofbrauhaus afterwards!

My favourite München bar/resturant, nice atmosphere with smiling waitress. Even had the Celebrator on tap, my kind of dessert! NICE.

2 visits here to date, most recently in Oct ’09 when 20 of us camped out here for some 4 hours on Nuttys stag. Original plan was the Hofbrauhaus, pretty much directly opposite, fortunately from my POV the Hitlers Arms was wedged so we got to go here with a wider and better quality choice of beers, IMHO. We were in a large wood pannelled upstairs room. Great atmosphere for 3pm on a Saturday afternoon and a table rarely stayed empty for long. Beer was decent, service great - a youngish female waitress who took good care of us without being abrupt or rude at any point (shock!). Food also decent, ’Haxe demolished in no time. If you want to try out one of the bigger beer hall joints you won’t go wrong here!

Big traditional Bavarian beer hall. Food was pretty good. Service friendly and correct. Got to try some new beers. All in all enjoyable in a homey place.

One of the best places I’ve visited when I was in Munich. Great food maybe the best pork knuckle I’ve tasted untill today. Good beers Bavarian style by Ayinger and a special Keller beer poured by the wooden barrels . Must visit place in Munich.

Yes , probably the best place in town .. Just in front of the world famous HB but much better ... Beers and food very very good and prices im the for the location ... My favourite beer was the Keller poured from a small woodbarrel ..

Probably the best place I’ve been in München. Nothing to say about their beers. Food was just awesome, with large portions (maybe a bit too much!).
