72 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 coyotehunter (11) , Michigan | April 4, 2009 Good selection, good service...Had some beers Id not seen in this state before as well as some beers that were retired. nice place. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 esjaygee (236) Oak Creek, Wisconsin | March 19, 2009 Tiny liquor store on the west end of what I dubbed "beer street" (28th street) due to the numerous entries on rate beer in such a small area. I didn’t stumble upon some of those rare vintage offerings people had mentioned on here, but did see a few older retired brews like Stone Vertical 7-7-7 and Unibroue Cranberry. Walk in cooler has numerous six packs and bombers. The singles selection was quite small with signs not to break up the six packs. They did have some nice foreign offerings I’d never seen. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 polomagnifico (14) Saginaw, Michigan | December 3, 2008| Updated December 7, 2008 Great vintage brews and other hard to find beers. Great staff, friendly and knowledgable. | 76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 mmmbeer (54) Austin, Texas | July 17, 2008| Updated December 7, 2008 (Visited 7-5-08) This place got me into a whole lot of trouble- read on... a small liquor store stocked to the gills with product. The beer isle is very tight, product on the floor (4 cases of Hopslam left on the floor, wow), product on the shelves, product in the cooler, product everywhere- with MANY older and hard to find items. I helped them with the product problem by purchasing some random 6’ers and creating 6’ers from the empty packs on the floor- nearly 2 cases in total. One of the rare instances where I had to force myself to stop picking up bottles, pay for my stuff, and run away before I blew all the money at one place. Would be a regular visitor if I lived within 50 miles of the place- and will visit again when I’m in that neck of the woods!!! | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 timsilvia32 (37) from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina | July 13, 2008| Updated January 4, 2009 Good selection of local micros and some imports. Reasonable enough prices. Nice relaxed cozy place. Basically if you’re on 28th street, you need to stop here. | 60 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 GeneralGao (222) Iowa City, Iowa | February 11, 2008| Updated January 4, 2009 Small place not too far off the interstate. The overall selection was pretty good. They had a decent number of Michigan micros, but the only one I found of any interest was a Short’s The Curl Imperial Pilsner. I was also able to round out my Southern Tier collection, as hey had all of their bottled imperial offerings. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 15/20 Hudspart (27) Hudsonville, Michigan | December 29, 2007| Updated January 4, 2009 Decent selection. Very good for sale of singles as most beers are sold individually. Very friendly and helpful staff. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 lampeno420 (11) Zeeland, Michigan | September 9, 2007 Screwed up and rated it on BillVanE’s name.
Nice little place in town. A must stop place if your in G.R., just because of the chance of some old Bells. A friend picked up a 6 pack of Expedition 2 and a half years old. Good selection of locals and Trappist singles. Helpful and knowledgeable cashier. Can’t break 6-packs, which is why i like sicilanos more. | 78 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 BillVanE (3) Zeeland, Michigan | September 9, 2007 Nice little place in town. I’ve been to places with more selection, but they do well with the space they have and they do carry a lot of quality. Bell’s Susies Sweet Stout, Founder’s Kentucky Breakfast and Warbird was on the rack when I was in, all good finds. Staff spent a lot of time with me showing me what is available and offering up his experiences with any that he’d consumed. Good stop. |
