Nice shop with a decent selection and ok prices. They also had a great Orval postcard. Feels old-fashioned in a nice way.

We visited here on Saturday 6th December 2014 walking back from Cafe Vlissinghe (probably spelt incorrectly) and on way to Cafe Rose Red. I was quite surprised that we’d not been here before especially considering it is close to Comptoir and Poatersgat (another poor spelling?) I have to say pretty much all of the bottle shops in Brugge I find to be somewhat lacking in many areas and this is no exception. Its a reasonable sized rectangular shop with beers down both sides and a central display selling gift packs, and other beer related ’mostly tat’ type merchandise. There is another room off to the left just near the counter which is mid way in the shop, this other room was a little strange with an odd assortment of mis-matched tables some of which were covered in more gift wrapped beer baskets and chocolate bits and bats. Beer choice was pretty good but without wowing me and whilst most people would find something of interest, sadly there was little that I was fussed about. The rear of the shop was the most interesting because once you got beyond most of the beery merchandise tat there was an old comfy sofa bizzarely placed in the middle of the room in front of a lovely roaring open fire, we would have loved to sat here cradling a beer (if allowed) though I am sure that the constant to and fro of fellow shoppers pushing past us would have soon grown tiresome. So overall a reasonably decent bottle shop but not one I would rush back to.

A few minutes walk north of the main square where the last vestiges of shops in the centre exist before giving way to homes and the odd pub. This beer shop, close to one of the central canals is of a decent size but is very full and cramped inside so it’s not worth coming here with all you’re shopping in hand as you might end up knocking things over. The beer selection is not extensive but fairly niche for the country with some good options different to the other bottle shops around here. There’s gift packs and plenty of specialist Belgian glasses here to buy to go with your choice.

Nice cozy bottle shop, a bit dark and a bit difficult to browse but enjoyable ambiance. They had a really nice selection and the service was the best I had in Brugges. Prices were also quite reasonable. By far the best shopping stop all day.

Cool shop. The place was a little crowded, but they had a pretty decent selection of beers. Some cool other stuff too. Service was pretty good. Definitely worth a stop if you’re close.

I love quirky old-fashined shops. And this really presses my buttons. Like a victorian apothecary. It’s a bit cramped, but that is indeed part of the charm. Selection is pretty broad, but I didn’t find a huge number that were new to me (but I have had a broad range of Belgian beers historically). Service polite and friendly. Prices OK for the area. I prefer suppporting these guys rather than the glitzier shops in the centre.

Quirky little shop with some interesting beers. Better value than some of the more touristy bottle shops but can still be quite pricey.

Brugge is full of Beer Shops, I think this is the 4th I’ve reviewed on here!
Always reminds me of a dispensing chemists with its glass topped counter on the left as you walk in and the high shelving on the right. The only drug they sell however is alcohol.
There is a backroom, also full of beer, but not so dispensary in appearance. Glasses, ties and other beery stuff is also available.
Friendly and stocking a few beers the others guys don’t. My advice is to check them all out if you have the time and buy a couple from each place if you must, but please use the joints like this and Bierboom otherwise the city centre ones will get all the trade.
