76 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 stephenj007 (13) Houston, Texas | April 20, 2013 Nice place, easy to find with easy parking.
Friendly staff that was knowledgeable about the beer selections. Samples were offered as needed. I had a pint of a Oktoberfest and a brown ale. Both were very good, solid examples of the style. Brewed on-site too.
Had a pizza for lunch, which was very good, fresh ingredients, and a wonderful crust. Size was great, no skimping here.
Will definitely return again when in town. | 80 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 jcnielsen (138) Kansas City, Missouri | November 16, 2012 Cool mountain brewpub. Big restaurant with good food. Beer has been consistently pretty good. I love the atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit after a day of skiing. | 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 15/20 Steve_0 (72) Denver, Colorado | July 5, 2012 A cool little brewpub in Frisco. The beer is really mediocre, but its not bad for a little mountain town pub. The food was great and the service was excellent, probably some of the best service I have had anywhere. The flight deal is awesome; seven seven ounce tasters for $14. Also, during happy hour pints are only $2.50. Probably the best stop in Frisco for craft beer. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 DWestrick (24) Ft Wayne, Indiana | January 1, 2012 Visited in Sept of 2009. Neat place - only stayed in Frisco for one night (SnowShoe Motel) but really enjoyed it - had several beers at Backcountry. | 78 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 16/20 soul11man (54) Portland, Oregon | August 18, 2011 This is a great place to hang out after a day of skiing/boarding. It does the job but it didn’t really jump out at me. The selection was pretty typical but the breakfast Stout did stand out. I would have to visit again to give a more thorough review but my initial review is a decent drinkin’ skitown pub. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 theisti (352) Leawood, Kansas | July 10, 2011| Updated June 28, 2012 Visited later in the evening on a Wednesday with the family. This is a very large, spacious second floor space that you access via stair on the backside (from Main) entrance. We were a bit slow to be seated, but after that service was decent. Everyone seemed a little worn out after the 4th weekend, and I can relate. I just had the Nachos (which were good) and a couple of beers (which were both solid). The selection was all of their regulars + two specials. The Saison they had on was a bigger ABV version, and well executed. Overall, a good experience - plenty of room for families or groups to spread out. I learned later in the week that the folks that own Blue Spruce in town bought Backcountry sometime in 2010, and I couldn’t be more excited. Blue Spruce is easily my favorite restaurant in Summit Country - whether fancy up front or laid back in the bar. I expect good things to come here. | 62 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 tennessejed420 (18) Denver, Colorado | April 20, 2011 This place is worth a stop on your way to / from breckenridge. Ambiance was kind of weird on the inside - the place is huge so even though there are a decent amount of people there it feels empty, and the server felt rushed and awkard. However, I could see how the deck would have a great view in the summer. Also, she knew nothing about beer. The beers I tried were decent, nothing to write home about, but upon bringing home some cheap ($3.75) bombers of fresh beer my opinion of the place got better. No big beers available when I went, all the selection was sessionable, but I was happy with a couple of the offerings. Food menu very lacking, only pizza, nachos, burgers available. The pizza was decent I suppose, nachos not so great. Overall not a bad value, certainly when compared to breckenridge brewery / breckenridge in general. Overall it is worth visiting to grab some fresh bombers and try some new beer, maybe staying and eating there not so much. | 84 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 adnielsen (325) Fort Collins, Colorado | October 13, 2010 I really love stopping by here and tasting their beers. Some are average but quite a few are above average to good. The atmosphere is pretty cool. Definitely worth a stop. | 72 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 14/20 gururyan (33) Stillwater, Oklahoma | September 10, 2010 Great view if you sit on the balcony. The locals are always great for conversation at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and had a keen interest in beers from all over the country. | 58 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 11/20 savnac (226) Anchorage, Alaska | June 7, 2010 Big place right off the highway. Pretty nice inside. Just sat at the bar and had beer. Bartender was ok, but didn’t seem too into beer, kind of recited the descriptions from the menu. Beer was alright overall, the IPA was really fresh and good. Enjoyed my visit. |
