The staff greets everyone who walks through the door, everyone is very friendly and has good service. The food is varied so that the beer. They have good prices and a cozy atmosphere. Visited the place twice and the first time I got a gold card member. thought it filed its own nich in the whole place and a nice memory to take home. The negative as a tourist "if you do not want to meet other touristsí one should not visit this place. menus huh light and understanding and the staff could good English.

Most amount of taps in Tokyo. Service was amazing for how packed the place was. Food was severely underwhelming, but letís be honest weíre all hear for the beer. Quite cramped without much room between tables. They were out of quite a bit that I wanted to order, so going early is probably recommended. A little on the pricey side. A must-go based on selection but once is probably enough.

Finally got to Popeyeís after coming to Tokyo many times over the last few years and it didnít disappoint. At a time when the craft beer scene has seen a proflieration of new bars, Popeyeís still tops the lot. For one simple reason. It has a huge amount of Japanese micros on tap plus a range of American imports. Yes itís pricey, but in a couple of hours I had five beers, three of which were some of the best Iíve had in Japan and one of which was a new all time favourite Japanese beer. Go between 5-8 and you get a complimentary food dish with each beer ordered. Itís very busy but a great place to meet people, especially if you are alone. Service is outstanding and the regulars are also very friendly and knowledgable. I got some great advice on beers to order.

Good restaurant with an awesome selection of japanese craft beers on tap. Poor and extremely expensive selection of non-japanese beers.
Food is ok. Complimentary food with some beers from the tap list if you order before 8pm.
If you are an IPA lover you can find some little treasures like Baird Beer Suruga Bay IPA and Coedo Session IPA.

The place is located right by the sumo arena. A very good selection of beers. Food is ok, but the place gets crowded. Knowledgable staff.

Amazing place with 76 beers on tap. Close to Ryogoku Railway station in a side street. Very busy, enthusiastic service, standard Tokyo prices, western music played, English Premier league football on TV, English beer menu & staff speak English. Great atmosphere. The place to go for beer in Tokyo.

Second visit in 2014. Bloody hell, what a place on a good day when itís not crazy busy. Seemingly endless supply f keg and cask Japanese micros. Not one of the were off. Yeah, they do food - good food too, but I hardly could lift my eyes from the beer list. Great service. World class.

Came here after spending a good few hours in Akihabara during my October 2013 trip. Once you find the street itís on, itís hard to miss with the giant glowing pint glass on the exterior. Kind of a small bar area though seating wasnít an issue, though I did go within an hour of them opening Monday night. Very nice selection of draft beers along with a few casks. Ordering seems to be mostly through the servers rather than the bartender, both were very nice despite the language barrier. Didnít order food but received a complimentary small plate of beef stew or something of the sort, pretty tasty. Complimentary food with beers during happy hour though I ordered smaller sizes which donít seem applicable for that offer. Food seemed like mostly pub fare along with some Japanese and Italian style dishes. Customers seemed to be a mix of locals and foreigners. I prefer Craftheads in Shibuya but would like to return here on my next trip for another try.

Sometimes too much of a good thing is bad. This place has a huge selection, is chaotic busy and service is crazy. Although it has everything a beer geek wants, sitting and drinking a beer itself is hard. Go, it is fun but hard to take seriously. Also on the pricey side.
