A really big touristy place made to promote the Baltika beer brand. They have a lot of the bulk baltika brews (naturally), as well as some small- batch specials brewed on site (apparently). I didnít try the bulk brews, but the specials were ok brewpub standard. The food wasnít that bad either. Greasy bar- food on the standard menu, but when I visited they had some sort of indian theme going, serving quite decent dishes at reasonable prices. But overall, the place isnít really that beer-oriented, but rather a shampagne-disco- kind of a place.

Enormous place, old Sovjet style restaurant. Serving several Baltica drafts, some you wonít find in bottles. Tasted 3 which contributes to the lsit of Russian beers. Not bad either. Food was OK. Nice waitress in Baltic dress.

Lots of Baltika brews, if you want to tick some that arenít available in bottles this is the place. Ridiculously over priced though, you can find all their numbered beers for ridiculously cheaper in just about any bar around. Tourist trappy kind of place in a tourist trappy part of town. St-Petersburg isnít always friendly though, so if you are just passing by this might do the trick. If you are staying a while, do this place last.

The only name in Russian beer I really recognized and it was fairly close to where we were touring, so our guide indulged me by stopping by. Strange. Large space and okay beer. Very Russian. TICK.

Massive, cavernous space with a fairly small bar up front, some lounge chairs and low slung tables throughout. They do ales here, which is kind of nice after spending much time in the city, but they were sold out of almost everything when I was in. We had a few nibbles and they were pretty asty, but this place is very pricy compared to both Tinkoff and Metropole, both of which are substantially better than this place. Worth checking out, just to see whatís on though.

Large brewpub near the Hermitage, right off Nevsky Prospekt. They do a number of specialty and seasonal beers here. The atmosphere is a bit like TInkoff, only with more people...quite Russian. Good service, the beers are much better than the usual Baltika stuff.

Off Nevsky Prospekt nr. Hermitage. Big, with interesting decor and architecture. Big long stained glass windows and very high ceilings. Sort of like communism meets art nouveau. Or like an old ballroom. Or, like Josh said, like an old post office. Had a terrible live band playing when we were there at night. Poor lighting and uncomfortable furniture. And itís one of those strange St. Petersburg bars that closes at midnight even on weekends!

Visited in July 2011.
A large and grand place with high ceilings, really an interesting and different atmosphere.
Service was good, they had information about the beers in English. The beers were ok, I especially liked the Chocolate stout. The beers did cost 150 RUB for 0,5 liter.
The location is very close to the magnificent Hermitage Museum in central St Petersburg.
