Cool, dark, hip, smallish bar with very good small plates of food which is very reasonably priced. Beer prices are in line with the neighborhood. Service has always been attentive without being over-bearing. Just the way I like it. Outdoor patio is usually bumping when the weather is nice, and bar can be crowded at peak times. You can always expect to find interesting things on tap at Bangers and Lace. You can expect about half of those interesting things to taste good. Either know what you’re getting in to, or ask for a sample.

Dimly lit & pretty small on the inside. Kind of like an upscale hipster bar vibe. Tap list was pretty large with 32 or so beers on tap. Not the most interesting selection ever, but plenty of new things to drink. Good service. Incredible food. Fried cheese curds with amazing sauce, an incredible venison brat, & fried deviled eggs with chorizo filling. I would come back here on food alone. Definitely gotta try this place if you haven’t.

I found this place in 2012; I walked in and the gm was talking buffalo trace antique collection. We shared some fois gras pogos and drank all the pappy.

Opening weekend for the Chicago Bears; yes the game’s on the couple of 30" TV’s they have hanging about, but they want to play a Talking Heads playlist over the PA?!? Hell yeah! This is the type of place I wanna watch a game at! Definitely a lodge-y / dive-y type bar with a solid selection of uncommon beers available on tap and in bottles. And the food? ... yeah, good stuff. It’s a sausage-based menu done very well (I recommend the goat "sandwich"). It’s a bit overpriced, and their was nothing special about the wait staff - although they did a good job "checking" in on me. I get the hype, but definitely a place I would pass up if there was a wait.

This place is OK. The beer list is awesome. Their "Bangers" are kind of disappointing. They claim to be a sausage landmark, but all they really have are some dressed up hot dogs and 2 or 3 sausages. They’re pretty good, but not what I would expect from a sausage place.
Now for the service. Go read yelp. There’s a lot of reviews on there about the staff being much more concerned with themselves than the customers. It’s true. These guys didn’t have the time to give a crap, even though the place was empty when we were there. Stop being assholes to your customers, and I’ll gladly come back. In the mean time, there’s a crap load of other bars with really good beer lists. Skip.

This place is a landmark for me. Perhaps the best beer bar in Chicago. Since the day they’ve opened they have been busy and for good reason. 32 rotating taps and hundreds of beers in bottle. The food is good without being to expensive and they often do special pairings. The cicerone, Ria, always makes chooses an excellent selection for their arsenal of beers.

Like dining in a mountain lodge, except this lodge has foie gras corn dogs among their other delectable entrees. Great beer selection, a target rich environment and a cool name, where else would you spend Friday night?
