Really nice place but quite smoky, so has lost an ambience point. Decent selection of beers with some stuff you donít see so often like Chateau Kamiya. Open in the afternoons too which is a rarity here. Prices are maybe on the higher side of average but not too much. Decent place and good for a mini Koenji crawl with Bakushu Kobo.

Popped in on December 29th when the place was decorated with crazy colorful stuff on the walls and a string of colorful felt snakes hung from the ceiling-is this normal for Bankan? Funny, anyways a 300 yen table charge gets you a small dish in my case a fantastic chicken in cream sauce. That sauce was so good I drank it! The staff were friendly and knew their beer which was great. I too got the tasting set(800 yen) and had 3 beers that I hadnít seen anywhere else(Coedonado, Golden Ale made with Whiskey yeast & a Hoppy Weizen) which was cool. Prices are Iíd say average to slightly below average for Tokyo. They had a well curated menu with many beers in a variety of styles so something for everyone. Not smokey when I went so maybe I got lucky on that score. After being shut out of Koenji Bakushu this place got my mood back on track!

They had a party going when we went, but they let us sit outside. Service was terribly slow, but maybe that was because of the party. 3 tasters for •800 is the recommended purchase here. Inside is small, and usually very smoky I hear. We had some fried fish, but it was quite awful. As SB says, good in a pub crawl of the area.
