The best beer manager that I have ever met resides here, Nick. Friendly and generous and willing to go out of his way to get you anything you could possibly want. Awesome setup and a lovely store on Newbury street. Prices were more than reasonable. A must stop if you can get there. My biggest problem (not Bauer’s fault) is that it is so difficult to get there, as traffic and parking in the area are very very frustrating.

A nice small shop, with good prices and a very nice selection. I stopped by during a DFH tasting and talked shop with a few good beer nerds, including the resident beer-man ’Nick’. You can sign up for the store’s email list and he’ll keep you updated on new arrivals (and some that didn’t quite make it to the shelves). I usually hit this store up once a week.

The guys that work here are really very nice. The selection is very good, and I usually have a hard time deciding what I want. Nick is awesome at helping me decide just what I want.

Nice little store on Newbury Street. Convenient to the Hynes T stop and Newbury Comics. Helpful staff is always present - but try and give you whatever limited room you may want for browsing. They don’t let you break-up 6-packs which is unfortunate as they usually have a couple of brews that aren’t available elsewhere, but don’t necessarily warrant the volume. That said, they have a quality selection of local, US and European beers. High prices are as expected for the area.

Decent selection of locals and available beers. Prices are reasonable, especially given the area, and the staff is very friendly and quite knowledeable

A nice little upscale "boutique" bottle shop in what seems to be a well-to-do part of town. Nick the Beer manager wasn’t there, but the two guys behind the cash were friendly and gave me some glassware to go with the boxload of goodies I bought. Plenty of one-offs and oddities, especially with US micros. A few 6-packs, but mostly singles and bombers. Not a huge selection of imports, but all interesting ones. I enjoyed my shopping experience there and will return whenever I get back to Beantown.

Nice, classy, pretty awesome place. Good standard selection of brews as well as some more obscure gems...I’ve also heard that there are "hidden" beers that aren’t on display. It’s pretty expensive, but probably just because it’s on Newbury Street. Definitely worth checking out.

Visited here back in October ’07 while in town visiting some friends and honoring the funk. Nice little store, but they wouldn’t allow me to use their restroom which kind of annoyed me. Maybe they didn’t have one. Picked up some stuff from southern tier, alesmith, and smuttynose that I can’t get in NC. A rather small selection, as they are mainly a wine and spirit store (surprise), but a decent one with some nice brews. Oh yeah, they also had some 2001 3F gueuze that they had just gotten in that day. Yes, I’ll take 2.

A small place, but with quite a bit of selection packed in, numerous shelfs of rare imports and hand-craft specialties. Very helpful staff, and decent prices make it a nice little place for your specialty needs.

Bauer Wine and Spirits is accessible by the T Green Line - the Hynes/ICA T Stop. Good luck trying to find parking! Very nice, upscale ambience. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. The selection is pretty good - but overpriced. Worth stopping by if you are in the area and have the money. The bonus is the glassware they usually have in stock.
