Ambience? About as much as a barely renovated Furr’s cafeteria. But who cares? The food is unnecessarily good, the beer is terrific -- both Beachwood’s own and the thoughtfully chosen several dozen guest taps -- and the staff is both friendly and knowledgable. Can’t wait to go back.

Visited a couple of times in August 2014. It was very crowded during a Saturday afternoon so I only had a couple of beers. More relaxed on a Sunday evening when I tried some beers and had a hamburger. The beers were good and the service was quick and polite. Centrally located not far from the boardwalk in Long Beach. Well worth a visit.

Stopped in Long beach especially to go here. We were not disappointed. The place itself is more modern and set in some bigger complex, but it’s bright high and airy and there is an outdoor space.
Now for the beers... There IPAS were mind-blowing, really great solid beers. All their house beers were good. In addition to their house beers they also have a lot of guest stuff like Blind Pig IPA was on.. The staff is extremely friendly and unpretentious, and the food is as good as the beers. This place was so good we stayed an extra day just to go back again! Must visit place and also keep a look out for their beers!

Go for the stouts, they are outstanding. Very cool place, part of a larger housing/retail complex, so lacks a little of the traditional brewpub "charm", but the place is super clean and looks relatively new all around. Great set of rotating taps as well.

Great food, great staff, and the best beers Long Beach has to offer hands down. Between the award winning beers that Julian is brewing for the restaurant, the guest beers they have on tap, and the bottle list that will blow you way. Plenty of room, easy parking. If your in Long Beach and love beer this is the only place that is a must see.

Visited for a late lunch on Thursday 17th April 2014, around 2pm.
Located in the city centre, we found an underground parking lot within easy reach.
11 house beers and 15 guest taps available on our visit. The house beers could be accquired in reasonably priced 4 x 4oz samplers @$8, no samplers on the guest taps.
House beers spanned a good range including a Berliner, DIPA, and all the usual suspects. Guest list was solid enough but nothing that tempted me to stray from the house beers.
The place was fairly busy on our arrival but the lunchtime crowd soon thinned down but there were always a good dozen or more folks in situ.
We missed the daytime deals, lunchtime specials with a beer were 11.30 to 1.30 and happy hour was from 3 till 6!
The food here was excellent, absolutely first rate, the best I have had in a brew pub, my wife is happy for me to drag her back here and tick in front of her just to taste their food again! Suzanne had the pulled pork sandwich and I had a tasty burger - we shared the most amazing fries ever - steak fries smothered with cheese and steak jus, decadent stuff!
Service was prompt and friendly.
Lok forward to visiting again on our next trip to CA.

Just like the Seal Beach location, this place is great. The service is friendly, the selection is unique, and the food is excellent. The prices, unlike a lot of places in the LA area are not bad. I would recommend this place to any lover of beer or good food.

Stopped in here for dinner last night, I have been looking forward to checking this new location out ever since I heard it had opened. Atmosphere was pretty solid. Lots of people both inside and outside enjoying themselves. Large bar on the left wall with lots of tables on all sides of it. A few rather annoying people a few chairs down from us at the bar but that happens. Service was mostly good. Hostess put our names on the list when they had at least 4-5 open tables, we ended up lucking into some seats at the bar. Once we sat down it really improved as the bartenders were awesome and quite helpful. Quality is awesome, just like the original location. Selection was a little low on the guest taps but their house taps made up for the gap. I got a sampler and their new collaboration with Drake’s, all of which were quite good. Food is, and probably always will be, my favorite part about both locations. Their BBQ is awesome but I had that the night before so I went with the tatter tot casserole with was quite good. Prices were a touch high on some of the beers but the rest made up for that. Overall a really awesome brewpub in the heart of LB. I thought it might be a little bigger but I am kind of glad it isn’t. I will definitely return in the future.

Left the -4 degree of MN for SoCal and stopped by Beechwood. Selection of beers is really nice with 20 outside taps to complement their 13 brews on tap. Tasters can be done with their house brews only. Happy hour was nice - good food discounts from 3-6 M-F. Pulled pork sandwich was good but not great. Fried pickles were quite good but I find myself regretting the purchase an hour later, as with most fried foods. Service at the bar was attentive and friendly. Starting to get too loud for me by about 6PM on a Friday.
