Nice cozy place that fills up quickly. Good tap list with own and friends beers, excellent feed and good service. Nothing much else you can ask for.

This place has become my local bar, essentially. It’s the closest place with good beer to the house. So whenever I come home from work and get off the freeway, I have to decide: left for Beachwood or right for home.
I think at this point everyone knows the restaurant is small. It gets busy on special events and pretty much any weekend. But they do a really good job with service here. Though maybe I’m biased...
The draft list is just about always solid and interesting. Part of the reason I like it so much is that there’s usually a good balance of new stuff, stuff you know is good, and stuff you’ve never even heard of before. Only real knock is that beers can be a little expensive, particularly for special stuff (and "festivals"/special events). It’s not exorbitant, but you’re not going to get any $3 beers here.
The food is solid. As the name implies, BBQ is the primary style here. But, they’ve got something for everyone and frequently do special food events, pairings, etc. Mac & Cheese night is a tough night to try to get a seat.
Anyway, one of the best beer bars/restaurants in the area and probably the state. I guess that’s enough of me being a Beachwood BBQ commercial for now.

Amazing beer on tap, great food, great knowledgeable staff and its a five minute walk to the beach. The only negative thing to say is that it is relatively small.

Wandered in mid day on 15th July 2014. Interesting selection of twenty taps, only two of which were their own. The beers are listed by name and cost on boards behind the bar, which is where I sat. No mention on ABV or serving size, seems to me strange. Anyway the bar area is squeezed into a corridor with the kitchen at the rear, the main seating area sounded like a kindergarten and I did not look in. One of the staff tried to nullify the noise by putting on some music but this just intensified the sound from the children. My BBQ Chicken on Nachos were good as we’re two of my four beers. I thought the bar area sterile and uninteresting, staff and customers all fine at the bar, but those mums with kids were not needed. This is not a World Class destination by any means, mediocre at best, can not believe some of the scores on here for this place.

Really enjoyed this place! Open, taps were diverse and some unique brews I hadn’t seen previously, and the food was truly incredible. World-class BBQ. Service was attentive but not terribly knowledgeable about what they had. Can’t beat the BBQ and brew combination...will definitely return!

I saw why this place is world class. The taps speak for themselves and of course, awsome BBQ. The service was excellent, my server was able to do so much and keep track of everything. I will be coming back I just which it wasnt a 30-40 minute drive from my house.

18 Aug 2013. Awesome! 23 taps. Three beers were their own. The rest were guest taps from all over. I haven't even seen half of them. Food is med priced but awesome. Bartender was very friendly. It is small and busy on a Sunday. Apparently it gets lots busier though.

A small and narrow space on the way out to the Seal Beach pier. Always an excellent draft selection and the food can hang with pretty much any BBQ in the state. The size is the only downside, it can really take some maneuvering to get a place to sit at the bar unless it is the middle of the week. They also have some awesome special events and tap takeovers periodically.

I go here to try their brews and only have one(IPA) on tap Tuesday. Didn’t stay after the IPA, but shared a brew a guy bought. Asked about their beers, Long Beach is the place to go he said. Sad
