Stick with rattle & hum unless youíre in the area. Big, giant, expensively built out space, fairly corporate/sanitized. Pretty loud. Decent selection but probably not quite as good as R&H. One of the ítenders castigated me for not drinking quickly enough while seated at the bar. Really buddy? Yeah I guess Iíll start chugging this barley wine because itís really meant to be housed like that. Annoying.

Visited June 1, 2014.
This was across the street from the car rental place, so it made an easy stop after dropping off the car. Fun place with friendly service and interestingly enough three floors, but itís an Irish bar and most of the beer they had on (at least at the downstairs bar) wasnít very interesting. I see the things listed in the availability and I didnít see any of that, minus the Lagunitas. I donít really see the appeal. A few blocks away is District Tap House, go there.

Great beer anytime there was to choose from. Both on tap and bottled. The best place I visited in New York!

Stopped into Beer Authority when in Manhattan on 7/9/13.
A: The place is pretty big with three floors of seating and a nice sized bar area. The location is really convienent as it is located across the street from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The place has the feel of a nice warm bar.
Q: The beers on tap were decent, nothing that will make your jaw drop but nothing BMC either.
S: The bartenders were personable and outgoing. The service was more than efficient and they were on top of things when your glass went dry.
S: The selection was decent as they had a nice variety of beers on tap. They also featured a nice sized bottle collection but the prices they were charging for bottles made it hard to break away from the taps, which were cheaper in price. I was a little disappointed that they didnít feature more beers from the NYC/LI area.
V: Draft prices were $8 for your lower end beers up to $15 for a couple of beers that I thought werenít worth the price. Keep in mind that you are paying Manhattan prices, so dont expect to come here and not break the bank at end place you stop for a beer.
Overall, if you are coming into NYC from another destination, it is really easy to get to and not to far away from Times Square...a nice stop.

Lotís of good memories from this place! Our hotel was located about 210 metres from this place, so went there 4 evenings out of 5. This place is absolutly great. They have a really great selection on tap, and also there bottle list is very decent. I spend all my time on the first floor, mainly at the bar. Very friendly bartender who knows his beers! Made good recommendations. Ate their once, the 6 small burgers. Typical decent barfood, which I like a lot.
If youíre in NYC, this is a must go!!

Cheesy bar near times square that happens to serve some really great beers. Very large pub atmosphere (dark wood, etc), but not my style - lots of blaring pop music. The beer list is pretty good; some nice nice selections both on tap and in bottles. The bartender barely gave me the time of day, even though not very busy. Looks like common ownership with rattle n hum. Go there instead.

Nice place to sample beers in NYC. The beer menu seems to follow (or predate) RattleíníHum which is also a nice drinking hole. The barmaids are well informed about the beer they serve. The place is very large, almost like a train terminal. Good music, good food. Totally enjoyed it there.
