40 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 1/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 8/20 jrallen34 (271) Chicago, Illinois | April 25, 2013 In Federation square, so its busy and touristy. I waited 20 minutes with 6 people ahead of me to just get a beer. 6 beers on tap, 15 ish bottles, common stuff you can you can get anywhere, but pay double here. Cool area to be in, just not worth paying to get a decent beer here. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 12/20 Bif (64) St. Louis, Missouri | November 16, 2012 Good location at Federation Square. Has an extensive beer list and a good number of taps to choose from. They now carry more aussie craft beers than they did a few years ago. The service can vary from time to time but overall it is quite good. Didn’t try the food but looks pretty good. Nice place for a break when you are in the CBD. Also it is not far from Young & Jackson. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 17/20 davidm (52) Melbourne, Australia | September 28, 2012 Great selection of tap beers and bottles. Atmosphere is nice too (a bit cold sometimes though), and they organise beer matching events that are very interesting. My only problem with Beer DeLuxe is the prize, but other than that, it’s one of the best places of the many options in Melbourne. | 66 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 13/20 maneliquor (50) Perth, Australia | August 6, 2012 Cool place to grab a beer and chill out from the hustle and bustle of the city. Nice location at the top of Fed Square. Not a massive selection but there isn’t much room for anything else as it’s a small spot. Nice to see beer on tap and bottles. Good to see they support a lot of the local craft. Don’t come expecting much imported stuff. If you’re after a solid local and have some time to kill, then this would be a cool place to come | 66 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 5/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 12/20 Rangi (11) , New Zealand | May 14, 2012 Great selection of beers on tap and bottle, owner was really friendly and helpful with selections. Food was not nearly as flash and was a little bit disappointing for the price. Was not much of an atmosphere the night we went but sure that might have just beern that night. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 14/20 kbutler1 (79) Minnesota | March 12, 2012 After travelling in Australia and hitting both Sydney and Adelaide, this find in Melbourne was a decent reprive. Ok selection of bottles and I ended up getting an Orval. Nice location in the square, friendly staff, and pretty good food. I had The Lot burger which came with everything, including an egg! Overall, I thought this place was pretty decent. A bit pricey but it seems everything in AU is pricey. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 12/20 hawthorne00 (32) Melbourne, Australia | March 2, 2012 Pretty good given where it is, but does not supplant the paving as the best thing about Fed Square. The keener beer drinker is not the only type catered for here, but does OK. There were 3 or 4 newish local releases on tap when I went and various other respectable things. Staff seemed interested. The bottle list was broad with some things better value than I’d expected. Fairly pricey food and tap beer, but not over the odds for the CBD. Food was simple but expertly cooked. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD 6/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20 vanvenlo (7) Glen Iris, Australia | February 8, 2012 The selection of beers at this venue has definitely improved. The food is could be better for the price and is a bit so-so. I have had good service here from staff who know their beer. I have also had appalling service. Beer & Brekky event with BeermenTV (2010) was very good. However on one night we booked in advance downstairs and were moved upstairs (due to a fashion event) to a pricier menu and didn’t cater to a vegetarian friend. On a couple of other occasions we have had staff bordering on rude. Even though this place has quite a good beer selection, I would choose other places before going here. | 72 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 15/20 D_and_A (5) , Australia | May 14, 2011 Commercial and safe, but with an extensive list of interesting options, and a few staff who really know their business. Food is always excellent and the location is enviable. | 66 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 14/20 jonno (105) , Japan | May 13, 2011 Funny place. The location must cost a packet in rent. This is reflected in the prices, though some prices are quite reasonable too. Very chain coffee shop vibe, no real atmosphere. Decent selection on tap. Probably a place I would only drop in to try a beer I couldn’t get elsewhere. |
