Beer House is a confusing place. It has all the ingredients for a nice beer pub, but somehow they just don’t gel together.
For example, the place is pretty big, but the over-abundance of wood paneling and crap on the walls makes it feel cramped. The music is just loud enough to annoy. The food is unimpressive at best, and the service lackluster.
But the thing that disturbed me the most was that they seem not to respect their beer. I was served a pint of stout that was over-carbonated, too cold, and sour. When I asked the bartender (who’s also the owner) about it he told me that the keg was fresh and that this is a relatively sour beer... And the fact that it came in the wrong glass and without a coaster was just adding insult to injury.
BTW, while they do have a lot of beers on the menu, many of them are not available, and some are not what’s written (For example, I asked for a Young’s Double Chocolate Stout, and was given a Brooklyn Chocolate Stout instead. )
