A very nice place to finish up the night, I swung by here with Drake. Tucked away in a nondeScript strip mall, the place does not look like much until you start looking at the shelves. A great selection of locals, regionals, and national brands are a little on the expensive side but not too outrageous.

In addition to the bottles the drafts include about eight taps. At the time one of them was Stone Depth Charge. Looking over the availability this doesn’t surprise me - if you were looking for the best tap selection in the area it might be here. Just be prepared to pay a little for the privilege.

Overall this would be the first stop on my trip once I exhausted any brewpubs that I wanted to check out. Just be sure to leave some room in the car in case you are looking for a number of local ticks.

Big selection of local, regional, and nat’l/internat’l brews. The staff are highly knowledgeable and helpful, and the restaurant (separate space from the beer store) also has interesting food and good service. A must-stop in Charlottesville.

Pretty good beer store and restaurant/bar hybrid. Table seating inside and outside, bar inside. Service was slow getting started but friendly. Around 15 drafts, didn’t see any local stuff on during my visit. Smallest size is 10 ounces but they’re happy to give you samples to try before you decide on something. Good amount of bottles/cans for taking out or consuming on site. Saturday morning breakfast is a nice selection of breakfast tacos. Ordered 3 and a side of potatoes, 2 tacos are more than enough if you’re hungry. Prices are about average. Worth a stop if you’re in or passing Charlottesville.

Beer Run is a great one stop shop consisting of a cafe, bar and bottle shop. Quite the beer selection with a huge bottle range of regional breweries and from further afield too. The central bar is good for trying a few of the draft beers and bottles/cans can be purchased to open as well. Friendly bartender who was clearly knowledgeable about the beers. The best spot to start on a day crawling around Charlottesville.

Just had a nice visit here with Drake and HopTsing. Tasty bison burger, if a little pricey, nice draft list with a good mix of local and not local. Good service at the bar. Plus was able to grab some to go.

Parking lot is small and tight to get in and out of (no jokes please). A small place which is always packed. Lots of cool brewery memorabilia on the walls. Cool collection of glassware, growlers, etc. on display as well. Food is quite good, with very natural tasting ingredients, though definitely not cheap, especially considering the amount you’re given. Nice draft selection, 15 or more, usually including limited rarities, seasonals, and just really good beers. The service is solid. There are many workers most of which are very knowledgeable, and all of which are very friendly. Bar fits about a dozen. They do not offer flights, but they’re always good about giving tastes. Small inside seating, only about 6 tables which are very close together. Larger outside seating in a covered/tarped area, which is also heated in the winter, and a small standing bar and a few picnic tables outside in the sun. This place is also a great retailer. Some items may be slightly higher in price than some of the more corporate stores, but with the inventory they keep it kind of makes sense. They also fill growlers. I have been here many more times than I’ve checked in, and I’ll keep going back for sure.

Plenty of parking right in front. Big bottle selection. Be sure you check the room in the back. Received quite a bit of help and loaded up. Lots of singles and will break up six packs. Good selection quantity and quality. Hope to be back.

My 100th Virginia place rating, and this is a special place indeed. The first thing visible when you approach from street parking or the small lot is the expansion tent, always a good sign that demand exceeds supply. Inside is a deli slash bar slash coffee shop slash beer store slash restaurant, so you can do any of the things you normally so in those places simultaneously, or in any combination. The shop selection is extensive, with tons of local stuff. The food is very tasty and varies from bar snacks to deli stuff to full meals, and even breakfast tacos and brunch. Service is quick and cheerful. A must-visit if you’re anywhere in the region.

Definitely the premier beer destination in this part of the state. Beer Run’s a hybrid beer store/bar/restaurant that attracts a pretty diverse cross section of C’ville residents. This place isn’t just populated by beer geeks, which helps the ambiance. The bottle shop selection’s well-curated, nice. Beer Run seems to get the pick of the bottles distributed to the area, so you can usually find some pretty cool stuff. Unfortunately, everyone knows this, so limited bottles never stick around. Prices in the store are relatively high. As for the bar/restaurant - the tap selection’s generally pretty good. While the bar annoyingly doesn’t offer flights, the staff are happy to provide samples. Service is prompt. The food’s frankly pretty forgettable, I look forward to a menu overhaul. Overall, an essential stop if you’re in the area.
