The tap list is quite varied with beers from all over Europe and the US. Bottle list is mostly focused on the US with some European choices like Brewdog, Mikkeller, and Evil Twin. Prices are a bit on the high side and I’m not totally sold on the maintenance of their tap lines.

Modern beer bar with a focus on American and Scandi craft brews. Enthusiastic staff and nice for a beer when it’s quiet, otherwise it’s too loud on busier nights and very pricey.

This is the sister bar of ‘t Arendsnest and it concentrates mainly on American beers, although there are several others, notably from Scandinavia such as Mikkeller and Nogne O, and Brew Dog from Scotland.
It’s on a busy central street, with a small seating area outside, and is more basic in décor than ‘t Arendsnest – think working man’s club rather than high society tea room - although the staff are equally welcoming and professionally knowledgeable. Like many Amsterdam bars in old buildings, it has a short frontage and is long and narrow inside. There are high top tables and a huge, long board listing the very extensive range of (sometimes slightly pricey) beers by state in the case of the USA and by country for others.

Visited at 7pm on Thursday 25/09/14, place was fairly busy but I managed to grab a stool at the bar. Service seemed fine but was a little slow in places. 30 taps, displayed behind the bar in an annoying manner (to this Bois anyhow!) beer name first, brewer second ....aaaagghhhh!
Selection was solid enough with tap offerings from the likes of the Kernel, Siren, Mikkeller and various US brewers. The bottle list ran at well over 100. Not sure if there was a printed list but they all seemed to be listed on a chalk board opposite the bar which was a little awkward to navigate with people milling about.
The place itself was dark, wooden and fairly atmospheric, split over 2 levels.
I wasn’t blown away by the Beer Temple but a solid venue well worth a visit none the less. Just round the corner from Bierkoning and a 7/8 minute walk to Arendsnest or De wildeman.

Visited here Oct 09. Dropped into this place on a midweek early/mid afternoon, it was fairly quiet only one or two others. Barman was very friendly and helpfully suggested different beers. We went for a couple of the house beers, and as I recall I did have an American beer (forgot which one) Prices are a little steep especially for some of the bigger bottles but then when I discussed this it would appear that there really wasn’t a lot of diffecence between what you would pay here and what you might pay in one of the specialist beer shops, so what do I know and besides they are likely to be shared amongst a small group. I enjoyed this bar and think it will quite soon become a well established place to drop into on the Amsterdam pub/bar circuit.
Visited here on a few more occasions since my first visit. The beer list really is top notch and whilst it is pricey if you stuck to the taps you can drink for a reasonable price. We (me & my dad) visited twice over w/e 9,10 March 2013 and had some great beers.

Super bar. Huge draft selection with breweries from all around the world represented. Big bottle list as well with lots of hard-to-find options. Very decent prices, friendly service. An Amsterdam highlight for sure.

Quite incredible selection of US brews in Europe. 32 taps. Not that crowded on Thursday night. Quite expensive as you can imagine. Great place to have an American treat.

This is a very good bar located not far from De Bierkonig. The taplist features about 30 beers from around the globe. On my visit, I tried some cool stuff from Australia that I had never seen in Europe. The usual Euro craft suspects like Mikkeller were well represented. The bottle list is strong. The lone barman did an admirable job of keeping everyone’s glass filled. The value’s OK, reflective of the limited nature of the beer. Overall, a must-visit if you’re in the area. Pretty good.

Great idea, staff who know exactly what they are talking about. But.... it’s never very busy, I don’t see how it manages a decent turnover (not that there is anything wrong with the quality). The draught selection does tend to stick to a general set of US brewers - and more European stuff is making it’s way in.

Visited september 2013, and I really wondered why I haven´t been here before. Very cosy relaxing place ( on a sunday late afternoon ) but can imagine that it other times can be very crowded. Placed in a pleasant walking distance from the station, easy to get to. Great beer selection, both on tap and bottles, and even more local ones than expected. Beers served in good condtion, friendly and serviceminded staff and lovely company :-) All in all a great place to end a lovely, long beery weekend..
