Visited on a Thursday night. Mostly english speaking crowd, not many locals. Very much in the downtown area of Amsterdam, not far from Centraal Station. Had several great european beers on tap, they have some very good american picks as well, but I decided to opt for the freshness of something I couldn’t find near home. Prices are not cheap by any means, but very honest considering the products offered. Cheese and meat available as beer snacks. Service was top notch, young but friendly and knowledgeable bartender. If I had found a place like this in France I would have cried. Definitely up there with the good Copenhagen bars as one of the prime beer destinations in Europe (for europeans, Americans should visit Arendsnest).

A nice beer bar with a surprisingly strong American beer selection. A skinny but deep bar that is a bit dark and a small outdoor seating area. Bartenders are knowledgeable about the beers and make nice recommendations if needed. As I mentioned above, the selection of American beers is quite outstanding, both bottles and taps, with a few dutch and Belgian (Westy’s) available as well. Prices are a bit steep but as to be expected as they are mainly imports. A nice selection of meats and cheeses if desired. I was pleasantly surprised here.

A must visit for the beer enthusiast in the Dam and a welcome distraction from the other attractions. Always a good selection of IPAs from the US and Europe, Italy, UK, Belgium, Nordics. Normally some good imperial stouts. Everything you need really. Prices are 4 to 6 euros for 250ml glass, on a par with Paris, but expensive compared with London.
Relaxed atmosphere and outside space to sit and watch the trams and bikes go by. Staff are efficient and knowledgable and a bit of fun.

Visited september 2013, and I really wondered why I haven´t been here before. Very cosy relaxing place ( on a sunday late afternoon ) but can imagine that it other times can be very crowded. Placed in a pleasant walking distance from the station, easy to get to. Great beer selection, both on tap and bottles, and even more local ones than expected. Beers served in good condtion, friendly and serviceminded staff and lovely company :-) All in all a great place to end a lovely, long beery weekend..

These guys have a broad selection of unusual craft beers, lots of Imperial stouts and IPAs from America and such - but the prices were just so insanely high I didn’t even bother to drink here.
Lets face it, if I want to drink stale US beers I could do it at home in Aus for half the price.
PS: if you’re just after a basic range of decent beers (Leffe, Heogaarden, Duvel, Chouffe, Kriek, etc) Cafe Van Daele on the nearby corner is better value

Huge selection of bottled beers with very special Barrel aged and self imports in a bit higher prices than the taps. Must visit place for the beer geeks....A real beer temple !

Impresionante sus 30 tiradores con auténticas locuras y joyas en botella. Elevados precios y la atención no está muy bien, pero la visita merece la pena con creces
