All temples should be like this. Full of things for us to discover and a nice, friendly ambience. They even have games to play while you taste nice beers.
I shall be back!!!

An excellent craft beer bar in the city center of Amsterdam offering 30 taps & a good number of bottled beers. The ambiance was good with some good music & chit chat with fellow beer lovers. The service was good offering excellent recommendations. However the prices were a bit too high especially for the bottle range. The bar is mostly concentrated on American beers on tap. A good stop when in Amsterdam.

Got to know this a while ago thanks to Ster, who runs the place; impressive in embracing the American craft beer culture more so than any other place in the Low Countries, with ever-changing taps, which also include American-style craft beers from other countries. Not cheap, very (if not overly) busy at times and I cannot imagine spending a whole night here when it is as crowded as it was last Friday, especially not when herds of drunken tourists populate the place (and spill beer everywhere, I will not go into the details concerning the ’look and feel’ of this pub after such a night...). I will, however, go back for sure, for the sheer quality and quantity of their taps - another feature seldomly seen outside of the States. A whole experience, that is for sure.

Beer temple, located in the Nieuwe Zijde of Amsterdam, features one of the most impressive selection of draught beers in the continental Europe. The staff seems competent and knows what they’re selling. Owing to the building style of Amsterdam, the narrow form of the premises causes a bottleneck, especially in the vicinity of the taps. Customers waiting at the counter hinder movement back and forth into the relatively spacious and comfortable tables in the back of the pub. The second drawback is the overall aesthetics. It’s not so much about the overall quality of furniture, which are of good standard, but the composition and the sheer amount of the different pieces of furniture and decorative elements. Here, the principle "less is more" would be of good use. Moreover, I think that the place for the list of beers should be reconsidered. Given the huge amount of different brews and the proximity of the long side wall, the listing is somewhat difficult to read.
While certainly worth visiting for its selection, it should be done in the company of other beer enthusiasts, for those not interested in beers will propably have a dull time here.

A bar started by Peter van den Arend of the Arendsnest so you know quality is assured. Especially for American beers. No Bud but good breweries like Left Hand, Uncommon etc. People know about beer and the selection on tap is great, let alone the bottles. In the middle of the city too.

OK - being an american, my rating will skew down a little, since I’ve had, or have access too, most every beer here. But (and it’s a big but) - for a selection of American beers in Amsterdam (or really, anywhere in that part of the world) - it’s really, really good. Most all of the ’big boys; of American craft are represented. You’d be hard-pressed to find this variety in most bars in the States, really. Atmosphere is a little ’new wave’ for my taste, but if you’re looking for American craft in Amsterdam - this is your place. Prices are high if you’re used to getting these beers locally, but not horrible given the location. We had Alesmith IPA, GD Hercules and some others tat I’m forgetting and all were quite fresh and not ridiculously priced given the distance from source.

This bar opened by Peter van den Arend of the Arendsnest. Especially for American beers and a very decent selection. But I did not feel so cozy.
