Great idea, staff who know exactly what they are talking about. But.... itís never very busy, I donít see how it manages a decent turnover (not that there is anything wrong with the quality). The draught selection does tend to stick to a general set of US brewers - and more European stuff is making itís way in.

Visited this place on the opening weekend 2009, the placer was not 100% ready for business, the paint was still wet. Nice selection of US beers on tap, not beer on every tap when visited, but they also had a good bottle selection. We sat on the benches outside and enjoyed the late glimpses of summer.

A nice beer bar with a surprisingly strong American beer selection. A skinny but deep bar that is a bit dark and a small outdoor seating area. Bartenders are knowledgeable about the beers and make nice recommendations if needed. As I mentioned above, the selection of American beers is quite outstanding, both bottles and taps, with a few dutch and Belgian (Westyís) available as well. Prices are a bit steep but as to be expected as they are mainly imports. A nice selection of meats and cheeses if desired. I was pleasantly surprised here.

Nice Place in the center of Amsterdam. Rather nice tap-selection with focus on American beers. Barrel aged Boris for instance. Dark and quite pleasant Indoor area, not very crowded on a late Monday afternoon. Good service.

only been here twice. One just after it was open and once for a beer tasting where one of the Brewdog brewers was there. I love this bar! Pity itís not in the Hague but itís a lot closer then the US ;-) Iím a big fan of American beers and have travelled to the US several times. They have a very good selection of beers from around the world. Only the best beers get into this bar!

Dark, dimly lit with gaudy black and red decor. Amazing selection of beer. Satisfactory prices and service. Horrible toilets up a spiral staircase. Not a very nice place but amazing choice of beer. Close to beer store round the corner.

I could not add anything to the entry by skortila. We have to see how it evolves as a beer bar, but I certainly hope this is a step in the good direction for dutch fans of american styled beers.
Skortila: Place visited together with Caesar at a quiet sunday afternoon. Cosey place, Peter himself as barman, so good talk about beer. I was lookin forward to go to this place and it was fantastic. Loads of American beers, also some rare americans on tap, hard to get anywhere else in Europe. The standard templebeer is a perfect sessionbeer for a start. Prices are high for the dutch, but more than reasonable for beergeeks. I will definately visit again.

Nice place around the corner from Bierkonig. Not too loud music, beer pictures (mostly american breweries) on the walls. While considering what to try bartender brought me a sample of Flying Dog Raging Bitch Belgian-style India Pale Ale which was very good, so for the beginning I decided to order it. Some 20 tap beers with reasonable prices, but also few big bottled Americans that are quite expensive (for Croatian standard, but also reasonable if we know where they came from). All in all highly recomended place.

This place had a very American vibe to it. Service was fine, but you have to go up to the bar to order. Crazy selection of beers from all over the world, American stuff that is hard to get in America. So many draft beers and a killer bottle list. Prices were kind of high but there were some values to be had. Funny though, they had Dark Lord for 100 euro for a bottle. This is a cool place, the selection of beer is amazing.

Visited on a Thursday night. Mostly english speaking crowd, not many locals. Very much in the downtown area of Amsterdam, not far from Centraal Station. Had several great european beers on tap, they have some very good american picks as well, but I decided to opt for the freshness of something I couldnít find near home. Prices are not cheap by any means, but very honest considering the products offered. Cheese and meat available as beer snacks. Service was top notch, young but friendly and knowledgeable bartender. If I had found a place like this in France I would have cried. Definitely up there with the good Copenhagen bars as one of the prime beer destinations in Europe (for europeans, Americans should visit Arendsnest).
