Simply the heaven for the american craft beers. What a selection! A little pricy

Amazing place. If you are a big fan of the American craft scene, then you should visit it. Huge selection of beers. It has a great atmosphere and it makes u feel home. Only bad thing is the prices. It is located in the center of amsterdam and most of the beers are imported, so it is very expensive for a regular traveller.

This is the sister bar of Ďt Arendsnest and it concentrates mainly on American beers, although there are several others, notably from Scandinavia such as Mikkeller and Nogne O, and Brew Dog from Scotland. Itís on a busy central street, with a small seating area outside, and is more basic in dťcor than Ďt Arendsnest Ė think working manís club rather than high society tea room - although the staff are equally welcoming and professionally knowledgeable. Like many Amsterdam bars in old buildings, it has a short frontage and is long and narrow inside. There are high top tables and a huge, long board listing the very extensive range of (sometimes slightly pricey) beers by state in the case of the USA and by country for others. (Last visited 29 September 2013).

This bar opened by Peter van den Arend of the Arendsnest. Especially for American beers and a very decent selection. But I did not feel so cozy.

Modern beer bar with a focus on American and Scandi craft brews. Enthusiastic staff and nice for a beer when itís quiet, otherwise itís too loud on busier nights and very pricey.

Incredible selection of mostly American craft beers. They do have a few European beers but only because AB-InBev owns the building and requires them to carry some of their beers. A MUST if you are in Amsterdam. Make sure you check their sister pub ít Arendsnest for an incredible selection of Dutch beers.

Awesome place. Cozy, dark and quiet, non-smoking environment. There were a few people already in there enjoying wine or some other such nonsense. Great selection of American beers on tap, yes on tap, with a larger selection of bottles. The prices were very reasonable and on par with most bars in the States. The server that evening said he wasnít usually there and didnít know too much about some of the beers I asked about. But he offered to call the owner to ask, and was ready with a sample to quell some of the questions I may have had in addition. A bigger group of folks came in later, but something about the place makes everyone not be as boisterous as you would imagine they would be.

Just off the main square - another great themed pub - this time itís (nearly) all US beers. This is reflected in the prices which are generally higher than the sibling Arendsnest, import duty, transport etc etc. On our one night in here - Thomas was behind the bar - so service was excellent. If you have had not had many US beers then this is fantastic place to get started. If you have had loads I bet you can still find a tick or two here (I found 4). A great way to while away an evening but bring plenty of Euros!

Iím living in Amsterdam and frequently visit In De Wildeman. Somehow Arendsnest never seems quite on my route, so I have never visited that very much (even though they have a great selection). But this is something! I was very excited when Peter announced the first American beerbar in Europe, and Iíve not been let down. I have visited Beer Temple more times in the past 1,5 or so years than Iíve visited Arendsnest in the 11 years of its existence. 30 beers on tap, with a lot Bier&Co regular imports (most of them excellent btw) but also a few surprises every time I get here. Iíve had a dozen or so Southern Tierís, Mikkellers, Haands, Amagers on tap. Also great bottle selection, although I usually stick to draught. It surprises me there are always many Americans here, but itís probably because of what they tell me: you can get stuff here thatís very hard to find in the US. Highly recommended.

Great selection of American, but also (northern) European micro brews. 30 taps and dozens more in bottle. Crew very knowledgable and attentive. Drawback is wafting smell from the microwave, but for Hop-Heads a must visit. Brandt&Levie artisanal sausage is being offered now.
