OK - being an american, my rating will skew down a little, since I’ve had, or have access too, most every beer here. But (and it’s a big but) - for a selection of American beers in Amsterdam (or really, anywhere in that part of the world) - it’s really, really good. Most all of the ’big boys; of American craft are represented. You’d be hard-pressed to find this variety in most bars in the States, really. Atmosphere is a little ’new wave’ for my taste, but if you’re looking for American craft in Amsterdam - this is your place. Prices are high if you’re used to getting these beers locally, but not horrible given the location. We had Alesmith IPA, GD Hercules and some others tat I’m forgetting and all were quite fresh and not ridiculously priced given the distance from source.

I love this place. If you want to drink good beer in Amsterdam, go here. Personnel is very kind and friendly. Share the bottles and take some cheese.

Nice and modern bar, quite new, so visitor numbers run from packed to empty with a wide ranging crowd.
Enthusiastic, helpfull, and generally nice personnel. (Including owner Peter Arend who can rant on about beer for hours!)
If you like American beers, this is the place to go!

Very nice place, great atmosphere, very friendly service, huge selection of american beers. Only the music was not our cup of tea, but the atmosphere definitely made up for that. Visit if you are in the neighborhood!

Visited here Oct 09. Dropped into this place on a midweek early/mid afternoon, it was fairly quiet only one or two others. Barman was very friendly and helpfully suggested different beers. We went for a couple of the house beers, and as I recall I did have an American beer (forgot which one) Prices are a little steep especially for some of the bigger bottles but then when I discussed this it would appear that there really wasn’t a lot of diffecence between what you would pay here and what you might pay in one of the specialist beer shops, so what do I know and besides they are likely to be shared amongst a small group. I enjoyed this bar and think it will quite soon become a well established place to drop into on the Amsterdam pub/bar circuit.
Visited here on a few more occasions since my first visit. The beer list really is top notch and whilst it is pricey if you stuck to the taps you can drink for a reasonable price. We (me & my dad) visited twice over w/e 9,10 March 2013 and had some great beers.

I could not add anything to the entry by skortila. We have to see how it evolves as a beer bar, but I certainly hope this is a step in the good direction for dutch fans of american styled beers.
Skortila: Place visited together with Caesar at a quiet sunday afternoon. Cosey place, Peter himself as barman, so good talk about beer. I was lookin forward to go to this place and it was fantastic. Loads of American beers, also some rare americans on tap, hard to get anywhere else in Europe. The standard templebeer is a perfect sessionbeer for a start. Prices are high for the dutch, but more than reasonable for beergeeks. I will definately visit again.

Nice place around the corner from Bierkonig. Not too loud music, beer pictures (mostly american breweries) on the walls. While considering what to try bartender brought me a sample of Flying Dog Raging Bitch Belgian-style India Pale Ale which was very good, so for the beginning I decided to order it. Some 20 tap beers with reasonable prices, but also few big bottled Americans that are quite expensive (for Croatian standard, but also reasonable if we know where they came from). All in all highly recomended place.

Great place with a lot of fantastic beers both on tap and in bottles. There is mostly american stuff but both belgian, danish stuff are to be found too. The prices are fair and the staff nice. The bar is made after american example - plain and simple with the beers in focus - just as it should be. When we were there...and we were there for a loong time they kept pushing the volume on the music - no need to say that that was a bad idea. Keep the music down - were here for the beers not to listen to Toto or U2.

I was pleased with this new bar, just minutes from De Bierkoning. Good portfolio of tap and bottled beers. Barmen was very friendly. He still has to work on his beer knowledge, but that is a question in putting in hours. Not too expensive, considering the trade prizes for these beers.
