92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 19/20 mikesaum (6) Newark , Ohio | November 18, 2012 This place is awesome, HUGE selection off singles, some difficult finds, loss of good locals, a little more pricey than the other places i’ve been but oh well, crazy good selection, can’t wait to stop in again. | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 19/20 midwestbeerguy (28) Ohio | November 17, 2012 If you live in or around Dayton you got to check this place out. | 88 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 jhbeer (2) , | November 16, 2012 If you want a place that has a great craft beer selection with a TON of singles available, come here. Probably the best beer place in the Dayton, Ohio area. | 88 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 BeerandBlues2 (458) Hanover, Maryland | September 29, 2012 Nice, framed place with tons of beers and a very helpful beer guy. Good prices, plenty of selection, cannot really say much else. | 94 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 19/20 zombiedusted (1) Dayton, Ohio | September 28, 2012 By far best liquor store in Dayton. Lots of vintage beers on the shelves, found Smuttynose wheat wine 09’ and jw lee’s 99’ just the other day. Lots of American craft beer, but what sets this place apart from other liquor stores is their huge selection of Import beers. Evil twin, jw lees, thomas hardy, and many others. And now eith the new Stackers next door you can enjoy a great sub/sandwich with the awesome beer you pick up. New signs make it much easier to find and Brew tensils homebrew store next door is great for home brewers. | 94 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 20/20 raninator84 (10) beavercreek, Ohio | August 16, 2012 Update: New Signage out front makes this place much easier to find now! A breath of fresh air in Dayton Ohio! I make it a weekly ritual to stop in. Best selection in the region hands down. Single bottle selection is amazing with a continuous change of some of the rare beers. HomeBrew shop next door and new sub shop just opened in the same strip. So Eat, Drink, and be Merry! | 92 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 20/20 clingman71 (12) Centerville, Ohio | August 14, 2012 This is an update to my review from many years ago. --- This place is a kind of a dump, but to those who live in the Dayton,OH area, it is our’s. It may be dirty, but the selection is rivaled by few anywhere, and none in this area. They have all the usual suspects of American micros, Euro commons, and a good selection of Belgians and other "rarities" and limited releases. They are knowledgeable and always helpful. UPDATE: They also have a decent amount of homebrew supplies. Update: They now have a dedicated homebrew store - Brewtensils-next door, excellent selection and service. | 40 AMBIANCE 1/5 SERVICE 1/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 5/20 dstnly2000 (1) Ohio | August 10, 2012| Updated August 15, 2012 Beer selection is great, unfortunately the service is lacking. I was told by one employee that he didn’t have time to talk beer because the owner said that their markup wasn’t high enough to justify spending time with customers. Secondly when I asked about a rare beer that just came in that day, the employee told me, off the record, that their beer manager keeps those in her office for only the people she likes. BPS has the potential to be a number 1 beer store if it weren’t being run by someone who doesn’t value customer service. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 JCB (174) Durham, North Carolina | April 1, 2012| Updated August 15, 2012 Stopped in here late on a Sunday afternoon. Interesting neighborhood, a mix of beautiful old midwestern homes and tweakers. This was verified by the excellent staff at BPS, whose company I enjoyed. Terrific selection overall, ranging from an extensive selection of Belgians and Scandos to a really comprehensive midwestern selection (including several cool looking breweries I’d never heard of), and a better than average selection of national craft. Glad I made the detour to check this place out. | 98 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 20/20 SnobbyBeer (1) , | February 21, 2012| Updated August 15, 2012 Hands out, without a doubt, THE BEST place in Dayton to get beer. Period. Great, knowledgeable staff, amazing selection, great assortment of glassware, right next to a home brew shop - what more could you ask for? PLUS they update facebook/twitter when they get new beers in. Amazing place, GO THERE. |
