What can I say? This is as good as it gets in Portland. If visiting, this should be one of your very first stops and also your very last (bottles to-go). Above their selection, which is top-notch, not just regionally but nationally, you will probably get more beer-educated service here than at any other beer store in Oregon. And because itís Portland, where total strangers talk to anyone, chances are another customer will chime with words of wisdom about your most burning HOTD Blue Dot question.

This is the best beer store I have ever seen. Not only do they carry over 1000 beers by the bottle, but they have a few taps next door in their Biercafe. They get amazing stuff on draught. While I was there they had: Cantillon Lou Pepe, Avery Maharaja, Main St. IPA, and a strong ale from the new Hopworks Urban Brewery all on tap, nice. Staff is friendly and for the most part knowledgeable. The only negative thing I could say is they were a bit pricey- not that it matters, since you canít get a selection like this at the places with cheaper prices- and when I say cheaper Iím only talking like $1 on a 6-pack or a few cents a bomber.

Friendly, knowledgable people and a killer selection of beer. The tap list looked good as well.

Great little combination of a beer-focused bistro with a bottle shop. All in the same business. This rating is for the bottle shop. Clean, tidy, well-organized. Half the beer cooled, half on shelves. Great slection. Definitely an emphasis on hard to get stuff and imports, with some fall-back shelf spots dedicated to better west coast craft brews. The light is a little bit bright but I seriously doubt it skunks anything, they must turn over beers pretty quickly, and they stock precious few high-risk-for-skunking beers. Iíve had livelier conversations in bottle shops, but to be fair, theyíd just had a record sales day the day before. Musta been pretty tired, overheard someone say they had pretty much a constant flow of people (Abyss release day). Great place and Iíll definitely be back.

My favorite beer place in PDX. Tied for the largest selection, combined with a nice atmosphere, great staff, and a biercafe in an adjoining room where you can consume pretty much anything in the store on premises. Given the selection in bottle, itís not exactly a weakness that it doesnít have much on draft for the best in that dept., see: Green Dragon.

I love it, I love it, I love it, I love it. Been living in PDX for nearly a year and I finally made it over. Great selection of glassware (great prices too) I bought a DogFish Head glass, and I plan on getting one of those slick Hoegaarden ones. Phenomenal selection of brews, to enjoy at home or to be poured there. The gentlemen behind the counter was nice, asking if we were finding everything alright and such. Didnít try the cafe part, but food smelt good and I look forward to returning and perhaps having lunch there. This place is a beer hobbyistís dreamland. Iíve had stores like this were Iím from in NY, but the people at Belmont Station really know what their doing.

Has to currently be the best beer retail store in OR and probably on the entire west coast. Really really delicious soups!

A new location for this place, with a beer and beer shtick store on one side and a bar on the other. The atmosphere almost feels more like a souvenir shop, but the staff is knowledgable and friendly and that goes a long way toward making it a good experience. They had three quality taps, plus you could buy anything from the cooler and drink it at the bar. Itís very bright and open inside, and the walls are decorated with mirrors and stained glass hangings.

Not so many "single" opportunities as Johnís Market, but there are many. If you go to the Horse Brass, itís worth a 4 block walk to stock up. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. A bit clean and organized - staff and store.

The store is now nder new management, I miss having it next door to the Horsebrass. It looks like a coffee shop but thereís no espresso. It seems like it might want to be a pub but it lacks any feeling of a pub. It might want to be a cafe but all they have are sandwiches. I never ordered one, they are kind of expensive considering. I still visit whenever I am in town, as my mother lives in the neighborhood, but I miss the old place.
