The store is now nder new management, I miss having it next door to the Horsebrass. It looks like a coffee shop but thereís no espresso. It seems like it might want to be a pub but it lacks any feeling of a pub. It might want to be a cafe but all they have are sandwiches. I never ordered one, they are kind of expensive considering. I still visit whenever I am in town, as my mother lives in the neighborhood, but I miss the old place.

Great staff, even asked if I was familiar with Ratebeer website. Found beers that I wanted to bring home with me, and some I drank before leaving portland. Will visit again.

Great friendly helpful staff. Massive selection. You can get a pint at the biercafe and drink it, or any of their bottles , while you do your beer shopping...how civilized!!

Fine range of selections and a very helpful and knowledgable staff. Excellent glass ware selection. Seems like prices went up a little when they moved.

Theyíve moved five blocks away to a different larger location. They now have consume on premises and beer snacks. They have an amazing selection of bottled beer, and their regional micro selection is outstanding. the clerks are knowledgeable and real beer enthusiasts. Iíve rerated this because my mouse stuck and I couldnít rate it as high as I wanted

We were visiting from the ATL. Right next door from the amazing HorseBrass Pub. This is a great place to get the hard to find stuff. Picked up my DOGFISHHEAD 120 min here. They sell everything from beer, to Tshirts, to british teas and candies. Joy and Jeff were very welcoming and knowledgable. They even directed us to the proper places to go in town. Again, great selection!

An interesting beer store, in that the beers on the shelves in the front of the store are single, warm bottles. You basically pick what you want and the register person goes in the back and picks the beer up out of the cooler. This is a great idea in that it keeps the beer stored correctly and out of the light. It is a relatively small shoppe with some hard wood floors with many east and west coast micros. There is also a good selection of Belgian brews as well. Prices seemed reasonable. They had some meads as well present as well as some hot sauce or something located in a corner. Almost seemed like a small, touristy, gift shoppe. Either way, the service is great and Chris does a great job of getting the best beers he can get his hands on.---Re-Rate---this place has since moved since my original rating. It is much larger, but there is a lot of beer out on the floor in front of the windows getting light-struck. The selection has improved, but is still behind Johnís Marketplace in terms of foreign beers. There is now a tasting room with some small food items next door. I had a beer there, which was decent. The taplist was nice with about 14 taps. I thought the $1.50 fee to enjoy a recently purchased bottle was pretty tacky, though.

Rerate at new location. MUCH better. Lots of easy to grab selection of beer, glasses and gear (hats and T-shirts). Add a buck or two to a bottle and sample it in the bistro half of the store. Young guys, friendly and knowledgeable service. Nice food. 4 taps when I was there but about to triple. 2006. Yes they have an amazing selection and the memorabilia is cool BUT the beer is aranged like a cheese shop. You donít buy anything you select based on a samples and they bring it out. A concept that I am not used to. I went back to Johnís market.
