60 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 8/20 edpeg (33) Berlin, Germany | February 20, 2012| Updated May 19, 2012 Nice cosy little beer and wine shop with some rare beers from UK, US and Benelux. The owner organizes now and then beer tastings. He is also knowledgeable about the beers and we had a little chat. I think it’s "little" (if I can get the same from online beershop for 50% less, yes, it sure is) pricey in comparison to some less beer shops, but has one of the best (non-German) selections. Worth checking out for some more rare stuff in Berlin: Brewdog, Sierra Nevada, De Molen and some others. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 17/20 banii (24) Trondheim, Norway | January 7, 2012| Updated May 19, 2012 The best place in berlin to get the really big names in the craft beer-industry. De Molen, Great Divide, Brewdog (Abstract!), Westvleteren 12 (!), Left Hand, Emelisse and Anderson Valley +++
Friendly and helpful owner who speaks perfect english. The prices is quite high, but i guess that’s just the way it has to be. | 40 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 8/20 ogivlado (270) Zagreb, Croatia | November 3, 2011| Updated May 19, 2012 Visited this beershop only because my hostel was in neighborhood. Mostly wine, very short beer list – about 25-30 beers including some BrewDog i Brewbaker beers. Don’t bother with getting here. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 Christian (197) Odense, Denmark | October 17, 2011| Updated May 19, 2012 Lovely little place and clearly with a passion for beer. The selection has mostly the international staples: Great beer, but not much new if you’re an experienced beer traveller in Europe (or has daily access to beer shops in Denmark/London/Rome or elsewhere) There is a very limited German selection, but some real gems among them. The prices are quite steep, but you can’t really compare to German standard beer anyway. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 Secundus (2) , | October 8, 2011| Updated May 19, 2012 The owner (Rainer) is really charming and helpful. He brings craft beer to Berlin, the only shop to do that! Even if other shops may have a broader selection, they don’t have brews from mirco/craft breweries. Here you can find craft from abroad and also from fine micros from Germany.
Also, he organizes sometimes beer tasting nights. A while ago the guys from Stone Brewing Co. where there for a special beer tasting, nice!
The selection is good, not extensive by any means. Prices are fair, considering how bad the scene is in Berlin. | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 10/10 OVERALL 15/20 davidaa (13) | August 23, 2011| Updated May 19, 2012 This is the best beer shop in Berlin, Germany. There is a better selection at Bier Laden or Kadawe, but neither of those places have an expert ready to help. The Berlin Beer Shop is on a great street with lots of small gourmet coffee shops and is easily accessible via the S-bahn. The owner is a collector of specialty and hard to get beers from around the world. Plus, he knows everything about all the beers - whether or not he has them for sale in the store or not. If you are lucky you might be there for a tasting and get to try some very unique beers. Most of all, just stop by and ask for a tip on where to go next. The owner knows everyone and everything when it comes to the German/Berlin beer scene. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 sebletitje (228) Enghien, Belgium | August 12, 2011 Nice little store with a wine-beer section.
Inside, not the craziest amount of selection but one that shines by the variety of the beers. The owner knew very well ll the details about his beers and offers some very nice small German offerings such as Häffner Bräu and Braustelle along with other little gems that are off the beaten path. Very helpful friendly service and all in English with plenty of beer recommendations to visit in Berlin.
A nice selection of Belgian beers and many British ones. A good selection of Brewdogs with even the Abstrakt serie. Beer prices are ok while some can be a little overpriced especially when buying small German new beer styles.
Also sells some beer books and local products along with a nice selection of sake.
Good to see a litle store with an owner who actually cares about what he sells. |
