Stopped by here when stuck downtown one night. Its in a grocery store on the outskirts of east village and the ghetto. Beer selection is pretty decent, lots of the west coast standards, allagash, and random craft and belgium standards. nothing i was excited to see. Pricing was pretty decent. Service was good, but the every so common overly excited beer guy was working. seems like every new beer store is ran by one of these guys. I know you like beer, but please let me pick what i want, if i need a recommendation i will ask for one. This place is a good start for the beer community in downtown, but still nowhere near what we should have downtown.

En plein centre-ville avec une sélection locale et importée assez spectaculaire. Les prix sont un peu plus élevés que la moyenne à SoCal mais c’est possible de récolter des trucs plus difficile ailleurs. Bonne sélection dans les frigo.

Headed over here on a break from the conference, to score some lunch and a few bottles. Food was perfunctory (but a nice break from the greasy fare) but the bottle selection was terrific. Killer assortment of import and domestic craft, with a very strong sours/wilds section and loads of local/West Coast offerings. Grabbed some Modern Times and Firestone, bummed that I couldn’t do more. Fine place for sure.

Alright, oddly opened front space showing off all of the produce and such right at the sidewalk in this semi sketchy part of downtown. So I start winding through the short aisles of beer and along the long beer filled cooler. This is another place with a terrific selection. I could go nuts in here. Oh no. There’s a short barleywine aisle. Well that makes it easy, I love this. I grabbed five that are new to me (and sweet baby jesus it is hard to find new barleywines to try) and left behind a few that were close to or over $20 to keep the budget under control. They also have other big well aging styles grouped together. I could easily blow through a bunch of cash here and aside from the empty wallet afterward be happy as hell about the selection. If you’re downtown and already riding the trolley you may as well head over here as it will be worth the trip. God there’s a lot of good stuff here.

Beer shop in a downtown location. Massive selection of beer, lots of US and european breweries. Saw a lot of rare stuff too. quite a few sours. Also was looking for some RR, which I didn’t see on the shelf, when I ask for it they went and got it from the back! *hint* *hint* Overal a pretty damn good beer shop!

Very nice selection, but only staff available was at register. Beers sorted by style, which is a nice touch. Seemed pricey, but it is a downtown location with high end merchandise. Worth a stop (or two).

Parking is a b, even on Sunday. So-so neighborhood. The grocery store is nice enough, it’s clean and the beer is easy to find. The service isn’t great, though, I mean, it’s a bottle shop in a grocery store. I like that most of it is chilled, and the selection is actually extremely good. Value is pretty good, some cheaper local bombers. Overall a solid bottle shop.

The sign outside claims to have a 1000 bottles and you believe it once you see the coolers. Almost all beers are chilled except for most of the stouts. They focus on local stuff, the number of bombers will leave you dizzy. I asked for some assistance and got some great suggestions of stuff I’ve never heard of. Didn’t insult me by suggesting common stuff. The prices are fair. They do have rare bourbon and Cantillon but you are going to pay $60 for a 750 or $30 or 375. A little much for me, but what was the last time you say Cantillon on the shelf? If I was downtown I’d come back despite being a little light on the 6 packs, more bomber focused.

Superb! Tons of beer. Awesome service. Really a fun place. Warning, walking in this neighborhood at night can be iffy!
