94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 tsarman (23) Northern, New Jersey | January 15, 2005 Great brewpub with great food and brews. Steelgaarden is a treat too. Spent happy 21 there during the Blackout in 2003. Good palce to get rare belgians. | 92 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 RUNDONJUAN (1) , | April 2, 2013 I’m big fan of all the flagship beers and they have a good seasonal collection. | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 hunter112 (15) Nanuet, New York | March 23, 2008 Stopped by on Easter weekend on a Saturday, so we may have come at a less-crowded time. No two seats together at the bar, so we got a table in the tank room, a little darker, more ambiance. The hostess was friendly, and got us seated promptly. Our waiter, Daniel, was knowledgeable, polite, and friendly without being the in-your-face funny type that you too often see these days. The sampler is six beers (I let Daniel pick) served in a rack that looks like a gear, very much in keeping with the heavy metal theme of this steeltown brewpub. At $8.50 for the half dozen six-ounce servings, it’s a bargain. Having more than a shot glass of each beer really gave you a chance to appreciate it. We just had the fried appetizer sampler, nice appys, the sweet and spicy wing sauce was a great complement to the Imperial Stout! A nice place, easy parking out back in a metered lot, we’ll be back! | 90 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 obxdude10 (104) Pottstown, Pennsylvania | March 2, 2004 Great brewpub, awesome food, great selection of house-brewed beers, didn't get to the Steelgaarden downstairs but I'm sure that is great as well with their selection of Belgians in bottles, the food is a bit on the expensive side though
| 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 18/20 MercyDevice (6) Pennsylvania | October 14, 2010 The food here was outstanding. I ate until I was stuffed. The beer is even better. The beer on tap was great, and they also had a great selection of Belgina beers to choose from. The service was good and the prices were very reasonable. | 88 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 16/20 AleWife725 (66) Albany, New York | July 4, 2012 I think this place beats out Allentown Brew Works. French fries are better, and they usually have more beer on tap. However, it is a popular place, so you may need to wait a little while for a table. A must stop whenever I am in Bethlehem. | 88 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 headbrewer (1) Bethlehem, Pennsylvania | September 28, 2005 Beer for the most part is well made.
Food is very good with an exceptional selection for a brew pub. If you have not been there for 6 months or more try it again. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 19/20 r464 (15) Earth, Pennsylvania | October 10, 2004| Updated January 1, 2012 Great people working here. A nice selection of beers on tap. | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 19/20 ssb2much (10) New Jersey | January 27, 2011| Updated January 1, 2012 Beer is great. food is great. enough said already. but wait theres more. Try the sampler to get your own opinion of the beers. Try the beer soup its really good. Breweries are the best, its the freshest beer. | 84 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 7/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 17/20 HoppityHop (54) New Jersey | March 30, 2009| Updated January 1, 2012 This has quickly become one of my favorite brew pubs. Beer selection is above average (3 regulars and 6 or 7 special/seasonal brews), as are most of the beers. Most styles are represented, and they’re not afraid to brew up something quirky (Machine sHop) or unique (various Lambics) once in a while, as well. The beer sampler is a great place to start. The menu is extensive and tasty. Many of the menu items use BBW beers in the batters or recipies to great success. Prices are fair and the service is well above the norm. No happy hour that I know of, but they do have special promos most weeknights. The Steelgaarden downstairs is also cool. If you can’t find something to like about this place, you’re a snob. |
