Deceptive as the outside doesnít scream craft or even nice, but walk I and you will be very surprised. I was fortunate to hang with the owner who treated me like long lost family. A brewer and craft geek himself, it was a pleasure to whittle away what precious time I had in SoCal. A must for any geek

HANDS DOWN AMAZING SERVICE AND NOT TO MENTION THE BEST OF THE BEST BEER! STONE, SURLY, DOGFISH 120 AND SO MUCH MORE. HE IS THE MAN TO COME TO IF YOU ARE TRYING TO DO ONLINE ORDERS. I HAD AN ORDER WERE A BOTTLE OF STONE ENJOY BY BROKE AND I CALLED TO LET FREDDY KNOW. NEXT WEEK I REALIZED I HAD RECEIVED 2 EXTRA ENJOY BYíS ON AN ORDER. I ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION IF YOU JUST WANT TO TALK TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS A WHOLE LOT OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT BEER THEN GIVE HIM A CALL, HE WILL GLADLY JUST TALK TO YOU. WISH EVERY BUSINESS HAD HIS BUSINESS PRACTICES. ALSO WHOEVER GAVE FREDDY AT 16 SOUNDS TO BE A LITTLE JEALOUS. FREDDY WILL NOT RIP YOU OFF AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN MAKE HIS CUSTOMERS HAPPY. ITS NOT LUCK HIS BEER STORE HAS SUCH AN AMAZING REVIEW. GREG KITE KITESBEER@GMAIL.COM https://sites.google.com/site/kitesbeer/

A lot of suspect reviews of this place as well as many "claimed" beer bottles available that clearly are not. My score has been lowered accordingly.

Old review from Sept 2007, before RedPoppy joined the site.
64/100 no longer.
Small single cooler door selection of bombers and a couple of doors worth the craft beer sixes. Nothing outdated noticed suggesting it gets picked over with some frequency. If you are already in the area it is worth a look. Coming from El Cajon or La Mesa Windy City Liquor is a better bet with wider selection.

First time ordering through Freddy after being recommended by a friend here in Virginia. These guys are awesome - after I had submitted my order, I found out that one of the beers I had ordered was available locally, so they quickly swapped it out for me without any hassle. Great guy - pleasure to talk to on the phone. Thanks guys!

Itís a basic liquor store set up, but when you walk in and start looking at the inventory, you notice youíre not just at another corner street market. With shelves after shelves of delicious beer from all over the world, youíre guaranteed to find something that youíve been looking for for a while. Come in on a Friday and Freddy will be pouring some of his favorite beers. Sometimes there will even be a representative from one of the craft breweries in the area pouring their beer. Like with many great beer stores around here, itís all about who you know. Often times owners donít like giving up their prime beers to just anyone. I know that sounds kind of ridiculous at first, but itís not hard to "pay your dues" when it comes to finding awesome beer already on the shelves at this store. Go on Facebook and Like the Beverages 4 Less page and theyíll keep you updated on the newest arrivals. Freddy has even been nice enough to put a bottle aside for me, so that I can go over and pick it up after I get off work. From the highly coveted Heady Topper back east, to the finest craft beers in San Diego, theyíve got it all. Not to mention all of the imported specialties from around the world. Obviously itís not always available all the time, good beer flies off the shelves, but itís regularly showing up in deliveries. If I want something, this place has it or can get it for me.

Great beer selection. Homebrew supplies as well. Freddy is very knowledgeable about his products. He went above and beyond with customer service this week when he helped me set up my kegerator (he even made a house-call). A+++

Love, Love, Love ordering beer from Fred! It is so easy, the boxes are carefully packaged, with swift FedEx tracking numbers sent via email. The website has a lot of info, but its always easy to find what Iím looking for. Plus, Fred knows his beer and his suggestions have been spot on. This IPA girl will keep on ordering!!

I have been coming here for a couple years now. The selection is great, the service is very friendly and the location is very convenient for me. They have a great array of bottles from local breweries as well as other breweries from all over the world. The owner, Fred, is very knowledgeable and will give you honest recommendations. He will even go so far as to get things for you that he may not regularly carry should you ask. Fred also carries a number of the more commonly used supplies for homebrewing. He has WhiteLabs yeasts and a variety of hops. He has the best prices in town on grain. Two-Row for a dollar a pound and all of the other grain is only $1.59 a pound which is on average a $0.40/pound (or more) savings over other homebrew shops on their specialty grains. Freddy brews too so he can answer questions that you may have regarding equipment or ingredients. One of the only shops in town that consistently stocks Alpine Beer Co. offerings which is worth the trip for that alone.
