If you are serious about your beer you probably have to have some of it shipped to you. In that case Freddy should be your first stop. Very good selection of beers and outstanding service. I typically have a tracking number within an hour of placing my order, never later than the next morning. To call him responsive would be an understatement. And very friendly. He cares about his beers; he cares about his customers.

This place definitely had a good selection of bottles for my first stop in San Diego proper. Having said that, the selection wasn’t any where near breath taking; I am certainly a bit jaded, but given the reputation, I was expecting more, and better. Still, I would be happy to have this selection if I lived near by, though the prices didn’t seem to be on the cheap side, despite the name. The online antics & predatory tactics certainly are a bit of a turn off though.

Stopped by at Fred’s store a couple days ago, and may i say what wonderful service I got. I got great respect and wonderful selections of wines, liquor, beer, etc. you name it he has it available. I sure am going to come back here again.

Online Order. Impressive supply of good stuff, especially from California. Fred provides fantastic, timely service. This is where I’ll go for West Coast brews when I order online.

What more can you ask for? Not only will I order from here again but I hope to someday visit his brick and mortar store.

Easy stop on the way to and from Alpine if you’re coming from the direction of civilization. Nice selection with mostly decent prices. He’ll also have gray market type beers that do not see California like Expedition Stout but those will be marked up quite a bit. He gets a lot of hate from some of the beer nerds but I think his store is worth a look.

All you need to know is that if its available in California, they usually have it available and the dude behind the counter knows his stuff. Unremarkable atmosphere does not detract from the fact that the clerk is very knowledgeable and does not mind to share and explain great brews.

Came to Freddies shop straight from the airport. Could not have been more impressed and satisfied with the selection, prices, Freddie’s service and knowledge - all awesome! I wish I could have hung out a lot longer, but since I am from NY my time in SoCal was short and there are so many beery things to get done. Home Brew malts looked great as well. Definitely a must stop location for anyone looking for top notch selection, especially if you need to have your items shipped. Can’t wait to get back here. Cheers!

Online order. Beverages 4 less has a great revolving selection of standard and quite rare and unusual beers. Fred was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely order from him again and stop by when I go to San Diego again. Excellent.
