Good selection of beers, lots of memorabilia, nice atmosphere, the music was not too loud and the service was pretty ok. I’ll be back!

Belgian beer needs is own glasses and that’s not the fact here. Too noisy and there is a awful smell in the pub. Maybe good for a tourist but not for the locals.

Nice selection, but pricey. a bit of a tourist trap. handy if you’ve missed your train, being right next to the station

Mixed feelings about this place. It’s a big, cavernous pub with 20 taps and hundreds of bottles. And it’s right by central station, so lots of potential! But the taps are all common beers, with no rotation, and of the handful of beers I haven’t rated among the bottles most were unavailable or the bartender "had never heard" while there is a picture of each one in the glossy menu.. Subpar. I felt the prices were also quite high overall. But a good visit perhaps if you haven’t had a lot of Belgian beers yet.

Bier Central is located on a very busy street, in the midst of other restaurants/bars. In the summer, expect the outdoors area to be crowded. The indoors space is quite roomy and peaceful with a nice atmosphere. The bottle selection is quite decent, but the taps seemed to be mostly common beers. The beer list is exceptionally clear and informative. Prices are decent. For example the Viven Imperial IPA I had was 2,90 €. However, some prices seem to be set a bit higher than elsewhere (probably due to the location). For example Chimay Blue or Achel costs 4,80 €, which is quite high for such common beers. Service was decent, as far as I could tell. Overall, considering the central location, Bier Central is a pretty nice beer bar, but don’t expect anything exceptional. If you visit this place midday or early afternoon, you can enjoy a beer (indoors) in peace and quiet.

Fake but cozy, as the suspension of disbelief comes easily to me. Twenty beers on draft, totally devoid of surprises. The list of 300 bottles had plenty to interest; I’ve heard many are not in stock, but I had no problems. Prices were a bit random. Staff didn’t really seem to know or care much about the beers, considering this is an ambitious specialist bar in a choice location. But they were easy enough to flag down. Food was just OK. Lots of tables, big and small, including some interesting half-barrel nooks in the back. The TVs should be thrown out the windows of the upper level, immediately.

Although the place looks very cozy and they have a very big selection, it’s one of the worst beer café’s I’ve ever been to. To start with, the music was incredibly loud and annoying. I know it was a saturday night. But if everybody is sitting outside on your terrace having a drink and a chat, there’s really no need to play annoyingly and extreme loud dance music inside. Second of all, the service. Was horrible. It takes extremely long before you get your order taken, then again it takes forever to get your beer. Our solution: going in to the bar to get our own beer. After the second round, we were even ordered to do so. The beer we had was past it’s date, and not really drinkable anymore. So instead of getting us some new beer, the waiter told us off to the bar where we had to settle things ourself with the barman (who was pretty much the only friendly chap around the whole place). Later on, they told us "enjoy your meal", as we were having a kebab from around the corner. After my evenly sarcastic "well thank you very much" we were lectured that eating on the terrace is normally not allowed. Well here’s a fun fact, mister waiter. At 2.30 am, nobody is going to be ordering any meals, and if they did, you would have told them the kitchen was closed for 3 hours already. We were drinking beers for a couple of hours, but no problem. Next time we get hungry, we’ll go get some food and we won’t be coming back. Long story short: avoid and take your shit elsewhere if you know your way around Antwerp. Think I might for that new Gollem place next time.

Fun bar. The location is cool, the outdoor seating offers a great view of the iconic train station. The selection is very good as well, the service is just OK, but the value makes up for it! I like it!
