Visited here on Saturday 6th December 2014. I have to say that amongst the phlethora of tat on this street I had rather inadvertantly ignored this place, there are a couple of other beer places close by and I had ignored those also. However for some reason I chose to pop in on this occasion and was rather surprised to see a very healthy choice, not just of beers but loads of glasses to accompany them. Whilst the choice may not throw up to many rarities it was still pretty decent, however it is tourist central so don’t expect warehouse prices. There appeared to be a few tables at the rear beyond the counter, however the shop was heaving with tourists on our visit looking for that Leffe or Vedett to take home. So whilst wandering along this street and looking at the ejaculating chocolate penises in one chocolate shop (I kid you not) keep an eye out fir this place. We’ll visit again when it is less busy.

On the main road dissecting the southern part of the city centre, this is the first of three bottle shops in a row, with the difference here that you can also sit down and drink your selection. The beers are essentially against the walls of a long corridor room all neatly displayed on shelves with their various glasses by their side. The selection is extensive and many of what’s on offer is in the fridges behind the till at the end of the corridor. There’s a couple of tables in front of the till for you to sit and drink if you’d prefer to sample what is available straight away although there is a mark up on the beer to do this from the take-home price. There’s also a large and fairly attractive garden area beyond this with much more seating available for those who want to drink here. The bottle shop adjoins a tourist gift shop which I had to walk through to get into the bottle corridor.

Downton Bruges. We went on a Sunday afternoon. Don’t like the ambiance at all. Service was non existent. Selection is decent, but consist only in Belgium classics. Price arefor tourists. Scroll past this place.

Not a bottle shop. It is more a souvenir store with a lot of stuff about beer. Take a good look, maybe you can find a hidden gem...

Visited in may 2011. Beer shop, where is also football stuff to buy, what a wonderful combination. Worth a visit and has a good selection of Belgium beers.

Worth visiting, but not the best shop in the city. This is a good shop to visit for beer glasses, though. It also sells a lot of touristy gifts, and for some reason, it sells a lot of football shirts, including some fake ones.

Brugge has many beer shops and this one doesn’t stick out as much as most, nor is it heavily advertised from the outside. It is part of a larger tourist store and can be easily missed if your head is down and it’s raining, but once inside the beer shelves reveal some interesting beers and glasses. A lot of 0.25 cl bottles not stocked elsewhere within Brugge, so worth finding if you are intending on getting loads of different bottles while in the city. You are left alone to wander around and I had to ask to be served, not a problem, I didn’t need any help, and I am sure they would have given advice if I’d required any. They also have a rear room (away from the beer part) that has second hand glasses and beery stuff for sale (real, old signs and such like). I still prefer ’De Bierboom’ for my bottles in Brugge, but this place is fine too.

Small beer selection with moire of a souvenirs shop feel. Look past the usual beer suspects and find little beer gems from Flanders for a decent price around 2€. I found a few nice bottles there for a reasonable price. The rest is overly pricey; Cantillon, Tilquin, etc are near triple their Brussels price. Not much of an atmosphere or service.
