Quirky fun little craftbeer bar, bottle shop, and sandwich shop in Park Slope. They definitely have some great beers on tap here...including a couple of cask ales...for drinking on premises or taking home in growlers (as well as the large selection of bottles & cans). During my recent visit I was able to enjoy Troegs Nugget Nectar on "cask" no less as well as Wild Beer M.O. The food is good...I had the bratwurst...but I hear the sandwichs are great. The place is small and can definitely get crowded...and not just the communal seating area...but also the area around the small draft dispenser and payment area. All in all a worthwhile place to checkout.

Beer-geek place in Brooklyn, New York. Iíts a bar and shop. Quite a good choice, however for me too few good IPAís and IIPAís or good stout. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff is very helpful.

Deli/bar place we walked to based on its reputation. Interesting draft last. Eclectic and maybe overpriced bottle selection - or because Iím in NY it seemed overpriced. Sandwiches looked good, but we were still full from Mile End. Solid place for a draft, for sure.

Very nice beer store. Explain to me how this is possibly ranked below the shit hole American craft whatever. Great bottle selection, solid draft lineup. Great sandwiches . Great spot

Pretty neat spot with tons of bottles to choose from and a few dozen taps of pretty interesting stuff. Nice back patio to sit and sip at.

Visited February 2009 and again in May, 2012.
My first visit here was a bit depressing as we had flown out to see Les Paul play (timing it around EBF in Boston) but the day of the show, while we wandering around in Brooklyn, the venue called to cancel the reservation since Les had fallen the night before and hurt himself. Bedridden he caught pneumonia and died a few months laterÖ As for Bierkraft they had a nice selection of bottles and the sandwiches were good but we couldnít eat it there and while they had several taps to choose from they wouldnít let us drink anything there. The taps were only for growlers.
My second trip was in 2012 and since my first visit theyíve gotten the appropriate licensing to serve beer. Theyíve also added some tables and some counters. It was late when I arrived so there werenít a lot of people in there but it was still fairly busy. No ticks to try so I got a Sierra Nevada Harvest Ale and hung out for a bit. Iím told that theyíre in the process of getting a license to brew beer there too which would be pretty interesting. Nice place with a good beer selection.

Nice place with a pretty good selection of bottled beer both warm and cold. Would have liked more taps but still a good variety for only 16 taps. People were very nice and food was great had a meat and cheese plate. Didnít try the ice cream sandwich but other people liked.

plenty of interesting beers on tap. theyíre not afraid to put up some wild stuff, either. last week they had something like 10 sour beers from germany on tap (which were really great)! great bottle selection. prices are a little steep, but iím sure that rent isnít cheap in park slope. nice backyard. friendly, knowledgeable and passionate staff.

One of the more well-known bottle shops in the NYC area. A bit narrow when you walk in as youíre surrounded by refrigerators and shelves full of bottles on both sides. In the back is the growler station and deli. There are some tables on the deli side where you can eat and drink. In the summer time, thereís a back yard area to sit as well. Letís start with the growler station, which is probably the highlight for me. These guys get some great things on tap and on top of that, for very reasonable prices; $10 for a growler of Boat Beer or Victory Swing Session is a definite win in my book. As you get into stronger and more esoteric beers, the prices escalate in a hurry. If you ask me, you donít really need a growler of imperial stout anyway. People here are pretty knowledgeable and helpful. Now to the bottles; this is where things fall apart. While the selection is very very good, the prices are exorbitant. Bottles can end up being 5-10 bucks more expensive than at other places in Brooklyn or Manhattan. Truly tragic; Iíd go here way more often if the bottle prices were more reasonable. The sandwiches are quite large here, though very good. They cost $11 and come with free Zapps chips, so that works for me. Overall, Iíd say Bierkraft is one of the best places in town to get growlers, but not so much for bottles.

Visited late afternoon on a Tuesday. Interesting layout to the place, fairly narrow when you enter with a long bench against the wall, picnic tables, and seats across. Had a coffee house vibe to it, almost. As you walk towards the back, the food is on the right, and the taps are to your left. The coolers of beer are around the corner from the taps. When I visited, there were about 5 people there, but I can imagine this place and get jammed and crowded pretty quick. The 10 or so taps are well chosen, and the bottle selection was well above average. Knowledgeable (though some what aloof) staff, pastrami sandwich I had was fine (bread was a touch stale). Overall, another really great beer geek hang out.
