One of Amsterdamís legendary beer bars - De Wildeman has a great (though not huge) standard selection but also gets a lot of interesting new tap beers in. Never fail to find something new or special to try here.

Visited July 10. Great beerselection and very helpful service. Great location, sat outside in the "sun" drinking beer and soaking in the atmosphere of Amsterdam.

Visited a couple of times in November 2010.
A nice and cozy place with lots of character. Good selection of beers at descent prices. The staff were friendly.
No food except for snacks such as cheese and sausage. Location is very good on a narrow street in the city center.
A good thing is that you can order "small" glasses of 25 cl.
The stairs to the bathroom in the basement were steep, an advise is to not get too drunk.
A must visit when in Amsterdam.

Simply one of the best beer pubs I have ever been to, truly a great pub with world class bar staff. If you are a beer lover and find yourself in Amsterdam I do not think you will do better.

This has to be my favorite beer temple in my home town. Hereís where service is a natural thing, where beer passion is a synonim for the barís name and where educated and knowledgable staff populate the premisses.

This is an old and rather quiet place, perhaps due to our early appearance (around 4 in the afternoon), located in one of those charming, narrow Amsterdam streets. No food is served, but relics of the old Genever (Dutch Gin) distillery along with numerous old/rare bottles as decorations makes for a cozy, olden-days atmosphere. Some local patrons shared the standing bar (reminiscent of an old hardware store) while our beers were served in appropriate glassware by the matron-like, but friendly barmaid. Good selection of mostly European and some American bottled beers. European beers dominated the taps, for obvious reasons. If the weather is nice, you can also sit outside and watch the bustling street life in a close-up view. A nice little place I wouldnít mind visiting again.
